This is a death sentence for me: Patients react in horror to GOPs late-night Obamacare repeal

Republicans in the Senate took a major step toward repealing the Affordable Care Act on Wednesday night, while simultaneously voting down proposed amendments to make sure people with preexisting conditions could still get coverage.

On Thursday morning, many people who can only get health care thanks to the ACA took to Twitter to express their horror that the GOP is going full speed ahead with gutting the healthcare legislation without having anything close to an alternative that would keep them covered.

“As a breast cancer survivor, this is a death sentence for me,” one woman tweeted at Rep. Keith Ellison (D -MN) on Thursday.

She wasn’t alone

If you don't vote or vote third party then THIS is what happens and they ALL knew it would! So guess what, TOUGH LUCK!!

Not happy? Next time make different choices.

Yes, the RePUKES are PIGS and chunks of PUKE. So why didn't more people vote? Why did they throw their votes to Trump by voting third party?

People bitched and whined and moaned about how bad Hillary was. They didn't campaign. They didn't even put out a fucking lawn sign or put on a bumper sticker.

And guess what happened? The country must be brought to its very knees by the Republican "monsters" before they wake the fuck up and change the fucked up thinking inside their heads and make different choices. This debacle was totally avoidable. But WAY too many Dems/Progressives stayed home or voted third party fully knowing the catastrophe that would happen if Trump and RePUKES got in. They made their bed and are now sleeping in it. Next time, do something different. Meantime, it is going to be PAIN.

I say, take the consequences of your vote and live (or die) with it. There was no secret as to what you were voting for. The primaries were fought, and they were what they were. The General Election was for the future of the country. What should have been a general mood of cautious optimism has now become one of dark gloom, and no pleasant surprises have been evident so far. Of course, to those who are still gloating and jubilating about Trump's impending inauguration, I can only say, you will find out soon enough if what you got is really what you wished for. I suspect the celebration will be neither long-lasting nor universal.

I have no sympathy except for those who wanted to vote but were prevented from doing so by Republican voter suppression.

This hurts so much. An old friend of mine has a daughter. Her daughter has 4 types of a disease called lupus. The ACA is why she is alive. But as much as it upsets me, it is going to upset them a lot more when they told that they are going to let her die.
These are the same people who brought us the Terri Schiavo case. They were willing to pay any amount and go to any length to keep her alive for political reasons but not my friends daughter.

have blood on their hands...you have to be very entitled not to care what happens to folks if Trump is elected...but a job in many cases is all that stands between anyone and not having health care.

She is in college...was going to go for her masters but can't now...she will have to get a job. She has pre-existing and will not be able to get insurance at any cost. Can I say...I hate every single person who voted for Trump...and will toss millions of Americans under the Trump bus ...in some way or other...and for those who call themselves progressive but did not support the Democratic candidate in the election ...the only one who could have stopped Trump, I not only despise you but consider you worse than the GOP...contemptible, privileged and selfish.
