Is there anyone else here

besides me who is thinking/hoping that somewhere there are some powerful and smart people in Washington working on a plan to legally prevent the disaster that is scheduled for January 20th? I don't know who, when or how, I just hope.

I'm afraid a historic disastrous period is ahead for our country.....

The Republicans in Congress are hysterically jubilant at their majority, and somehow think Trump is going to allow them to do anything they want, which I doubt.

The only institution which is capable of perhaps preventing some happenings which might occur is the C.I.A. Those guys don't mess around. And we might never know what they did. I've always had a negative opinion of the agency, thinking that they are rogues, unaccountable to anyone. But in this case, maybe they are the only ones who can do anything to prevent disasters. And I have a strong feeling they know enough about the Twitler to take him down.

Now I wonder if whatever hacking into Republican sources happened before them and the Russian hackers blackmailed the RNC into accepting Trump as the nominee. Conspiracy theory, yes - but I wonder...

The other oddity is that the past Democratic presidents will all be at the inorguration - but I have not heard of one of the past Republican presidents that are going.

Which means I pretty much don't watch any news anymore. The good part is I am clearing old shows off my DVR. Watching "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." ensures no Trump.

Great, powerful people haven't done anything yet because they are casting the net so wide. In the end Trump, Pence and Ryan all go down for the count.

It would be great if all his cabinet selections are included. No way did Trump and Putin cook this whole thing up by themselves. Hundreds if not thousands of people are involved.

I don't believe anyone will miraculously prevent the inauguration. If anything happens to rid us of this scourge, it will be down the road, like Nixon.

I am putting my hope in the intelligence community to "get even". Someone on TV said there are "six ways to Sunday" that the CIA could take someone down if they want to.

We're going to lose the 18 and the 20 elections and they wont be close no matter who wins.

We have to recruit from the inside... this is going to be a long fight.

I really wish Obama would go gangster and say fuck McPootin and arrest his punk ass...

What are they supposed to do?!!? Complain?!!?

What you're hoping for is not going to happen.

If there's any hope at all it will be in concerted tireless effort by citizens to keep the central issues alive.

I'm leaning towards the Republicans realizing they can't allow the guy to stay in office, so they will
find a way to remove him. Legally? Eh, I'd give it less chance than other means.
