especially in the open, could lead to trouble. So I don't want either to happen. What I do want is for the him to resign or be impeached because he will be in violation of the emoluments clause the minute he takes the oath of office.

I would love it if as soon as he took the oath someone order him to be handcuffed and carted off to prison.

but then he would just pardon himself.

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.
The Congress shall have Power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.

This part:"...or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort."

Russia isn't a friend to the US and if it's proven that the Russians did interfere in our election process, that's something an enemy would do!

If Trump were to continue to back Putin and Russia against the advice of the Intelligence community, there might be a case...and the

As for pardoning himself, not if he's impeached first!

It's not enough to be at ODDs with said power.

"Aid and comfort" doesn't mean moral support, political endorsement, etc. It means material assistance in an actually war. You really wouldn't want it to be the case that, say, anti-war protestors who were undermining public support for an insane foreign adventure like the Iraq or Vietnam wars were guilty of treason, would you? Cause if you took aid and comfort too broadly that would be the result.

can certainly be construed to be an enemy of the United States.

That alone can be proof enough that tRump and the GOP are traitors.

I refer you to the definition of enemy found in title 50 of the US Code (War and National Defense): Section 2204: "the term "enemy" means any country, government, group, or person that has been engaged in hostilities, whether or not lawfully authorized, with the United States."

The term "hostilities" is defined in title 10 (Armed Forces). Section 948a - "The term “hostilities” means any conflict subject to the laws of war."

Our differences with Russia do not amount to a conflict subject to the laws of war. Indeed, so long as we maintain diplomatic relations with Russian we will not be in state of war with Russia.

It's so hard to prove that it almost never is prosecuted and when it has been prosecuted, the prosecutions usually fail.

In the nearly 240 years of US history, there have only been between 30 and 40 persons charged with treason (the number of persons charged is larger than the number of cases because some of the cases involved multiple defendants). Only around eight people have been convicted, a ridiculously high failure rate for the prosecutions. Of those eight, three were in the 19th century and the other five all arose in connection with WWII. Only one person has been indicted for treason in over 60 years and that person, Adam Yahiye Gadahn, was indicted in absentia and then killed in a bombing strike.

to find the 666 "mark of the beast" permanently embossed on their forehead. Let them realize that they won't get raptured, they won't go to heaven. They made a deal with the devil.

We could sit back and watch them explode because if that doesn't wake them up, nothing will.

The PTB have always wanted Pence in charge. They have to wait until orange does something so egregious that "their only option is removal." Then, we become a true right wing banana republic. If I could leave I would. But I won't desert my grand kids.

Anything else, including the entire Trump maladministration resigning in the same letter, would take some time. He could admit how entwined he is with Vladimir Putin on the podium at the inaugural ceremony.

went there tonite talking about treason with regard to Trump's recent tweet regarding Putin being smart but admitted that SCOTUS interprets treason to occur only during time of declared war. But then he mentioned the Logan Act and suggested that may have been violated by Trump.
