Maybe it takes a lot of painful consequences to make an electorate awaken

Certainly the Ayn Rand worshipping conservatives are relishing in the outcome of their hateful campaign.
But I believe one of the most illustrative characters of the last century displays the crass greed and brazen selfishness that could, possibly, even soak the thick skulls of those who put the new buffoon into high office:

I believe Frank Capra's epic should be compulsory viewing for all Trump voters this year, enhanced with a hit of LSD.

Take away our health insurance, Medicare, SS? They're just saying that." I've heard that more than once.
Maybe this will make folks reconsider allowing the minority to select the President?

all part of THEIR agenda...and trump and his campaign stated NO cutting SS or medicare or medicaid....more or less the public debate will be all about who is the biggest liar....and all democrats have to do is gridlock all these cuts and make it a daily discussion on conservatives gutting all the safety nets of seniors. working families, working poor and the poor....which a large portion are conservative VOTERS who will have a real education

the very same thing re: GWB* and his cabal.

I honestly have lost faith in this country's electorate. As bad as the Bush* years were and the devastating economy he left for Obama, it seems too many NEVER remember, NEVER learn.

Thus, my sigline is and will remain:

Stay tuned.

We can't make this right. We can only work to change direction again, and to mitigate the damage along the way.

I also believe the likes of Faux Noise is going to find it increasingly difficult to bolster the monster they, in part, created.
The Frump would love all media to be as sycophantic as the Hannitary napkin.
I can't bear to watch any of it. I don't subscribe to teevee, it's grossly overrated in my book.
Disastrous consequences are afoot, no doubt.
