Is anybody else boycotting tv and radio today?

I feel like I could write their scripts myself, and Mad King Donald will still be headed to the White House and Tinyhands Trump will still make my skin crawl.

I played my Christmas Carols, went out to the drugstore for some new bandaids, and at the moment my husband is watching the news in another room, god love him.

Maybe I'll do that tomorrow, too.

I got tired of the sensationalism and non-reporting of the cable news shows, so I cut the cord months ago. I also have never really watched network news. So, basically, I'm boycotting mainstream media and I feel I'm getting much better information from online sources and the BBC.

I have boycotted network and cable news since November 9. I only watch local news and when they show you-know-who, I switch channels.

Tonight instead of MSNBC, I am watching AGT Christmas special and the Great American Baking Show.

But I mostly watch OWN and ABC. I record Joy Reid's MSNBC news program on Saturday and Sunday. Very very professional. I just watched Joy Reid on the Internet. She's filling in for Chris Matthews on Hardball. That's the only time, I'm not watching OWN or ABC.

However, on Jan 20, 2017 beginning at 12:01am and ending Jan 21, 2017 at 12:01am I will be going completely silent. All electronic devices will be off. I will not purchase anything, drive or use public transportation.

Due to an accident of geography (the curve of the coastline) we can only get one channel without cable or satellite, and that one very badly.

I'm looking forward o the protest march. I'm paying a friend's way on the charter bus, too.

I've been listening to NPR about as long, but since Oct., I've only been turning it on at mealtimes to avoid missing anything critical. I object to their normalizing of the tRump and I told them so. Their ombudsperson said she agreed with me.

There's still nothing better than them out there, unfortunately.

Just so exhausted by all the news reports and sources being so clueless and getting everything so wrong. And the drama of it all. The talking heads! My insides were getting so twisted and over-wound into a knot, I had to turn it all off just to get relief!

The only good thing I watched was the Town Hall with Chris Hays and Bernie in Wisconsin. That gave me hope.

So what I'm hearing...

Truck ploughs into Christmas Market in Berlin.
Russian Amabassor shot dead in Turkey.
Ban-Ki-Moon warns of genocide in South Sudan.
President of DR Congo still in power, his last day was 12/19.

Oh, now Donald Trump did win the electoral college... but that's not the big news.

Thank you Auntie Beeb.

Done with them all except for my local news on tv. I watched Oprah's interview with Michelle Obama and bawled through it all, knowing that the next "first lady" is a joke. I refuse to listen or watch ANYTHING about the next puke in chief.
