The "corporate" part is just coincidence. The fascism will be the effect, but let's not kid ourselves about his even understanding what fascism is. He's lazy and ignorant, wants what he wants when he wants it, and doesn't care about how it gets done, as long as he gets credit.

He's ruining the good name of fascism by being a mere spoiled man-child.

Is there a difference between a fascist and an authoritarian?

He reminds me of the regime in 1984. Does't believe in anything except power.

Fascism /ˈfæʃɪzəm/ is a form of radical authoritarian nationalism[1][2] that came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe, influenced by national syndicalism. Fascism originated in Italy during World War I and spread to other European countries. Fascism opposes liberalism, Marxism and anarchism and is usually placed on the far-right within the traditional left–right spectrum.[3][4]
Fascists saw World War I as a revolution that brought massive changes in the nature of war, society, the state, and technology. The advent of total war and total mass mobilization of society had broken down the distinction between civilian and combatant. A "military citizenship" arose in which all citizens were involved with the military in some manner during the war.[5][6] The war had resulted in the rise of a powerful state capable of mobilizing millions of people to serve on the front lines and providing economic production and logistics to support them, as well as having unprecedented authority to intervene in the lives of citizens.[5][6]
Fascists believe that liberal democracy is obsolete, and they regard the complete mobilization of society under a totalitarian one-party state as necessary to prepare a nation for armed conflict and to respond effectively to economic difficulties.[7] Such a state is led by a strong leader—such as a dictator and a martial government composed of the members of the governing fascist party—to forge national unity and maintain a stable and orderly society.[7] Fascism rejects assertions that violence is automatically negative in nature, and views political violence, war, and imperialism as means that can achieve national rejuvenation.[8][9][10][11] Fascists advocate a mixed economy,
with the principal goal of achieving autarky through protectionist and interventionist economic policies.

And ... yeah, that's my point. I don't think Trump really opposed liberalism, Marxism, and anarchism. I don't think he could _define_ them. He's more purely an authoritarian, don't you think? Absolute obedience to his authority is what he wants, though of course there's a lot of overlap.

The excuse to become fascist is to control the chaos which results from being authoritarian ..

Do you mean access to the WH, briefings etc. or, do you mean he's going to jail journalists who write negative stories about his policies? Two very different things.

My guess is he'll limit by exclusion (except for Fox etc.) and not attempt to jail members of the media. You won't see him doing any press conferences that's for sure.

Before this is over Trump will have sent many journalists to Guantanamo Bay to live out their days. Seriously.

although that term gets thrown around a lot, and not always correctly IMHO. Just being "popular" does not mean that the politician labeled a populist has majority support. In fact, I believe that most populists tend to be supported by a very vocal minority, and thrive in a society in which many, many voters don't participate. That is certainly true in Trump's case.
