is not the same as treason, which if proven to exist would be found much higher up in the food chain than individual members of the EC.

Some of us have had the label "traitor" thrown at us over the years because we spoke out against the Vietnam War, the Iraq War, the Afghanistan war and were said to be giving "aid and comfort" to the enemy.

Consequently, some of us are pretty sensitive to the looseness with which some people here are now using the terms treason and traitor.

The government cannot indict someone for political performance/speech, especially when that political performance is representational.
