FBI and NSA Poised to Gain New Surveillance Powers Under Trump

here comes Trump! The dictator!

The FBI, National Security Agency and CIA are likely to gain expanded surveillance powers under President-elect Donald Trump and a Republican-controlled Congress, a prospect that has privacy advocates and some lawmakers trying to mobilize opposition.

Has found its way into most commercially available VPN software unfortunately.

I agree with the paranoid part. Scary times.

I doubt Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, and Mike Lee would be good with this kind of expansion.

19 Republicans sitting in the next Senate voted for the USA Freedom Act.

I think all they would be doing is legitimizing what they have already been doing for years.

My phone has been tapped for years, just because my brother does secret high tech stuff for a branch of the Defense Department. Big deal, let 'em. As long as they don't bill me for translations, I don't much care. It's supposedly to make sure no one can blackmail him into betraying his security clearance through outside pressure on me or my family. So far, it appears I'm still below Putin's radar. Maybe I should be insulted!
