Bloomberg: The FBI Wants to Make America Great Again

It’s not just that FBI Director James Comey informed Congress that there may be things on Anthony Weiner’s computer pertinent to his investigation of Hillary Clinton’s private e-mail server. Nor is it the extraordinary Wall Street Journal coverage this week that revealed frustrations in the bureau over alleged Justice Department pressure to slow-walk an investigation into the Clinton Foundation.

The cherry on this banana-republic split is a tweet published Monday from a long-dormant Twitter account called @FBIRecordsVault. It disclosed that new records of the bureau’s probe into Bill Clinton’s pardon of Marc Rich had been released because of a Freedom of Information Act request.

Comey appears to have done his best to stay out of the election, but he is in the middle of it now. Through leaks and tweets, people in his bureau appear to be helping Donald Trump -- a man who has called for Clinton to be jailed. Ironic that Trump is the one who keeps saying the election will be rigged.

I'm sure a number around here have been having some similar feelings.

If circumstances were completely reversed EXCEPT an R actually did something really horrible and the D FBI director was simply doing his or her job, they would be have been completely eviscerated for being a partisan.

BUT, Comey cut his god darned teeth as a special prosecutor for the congressional Whitewater witch hunt, went off established behavior with a press conference to publicly spew his obviously biased subjective analysis in July to tee up a juicy fastball down the middle of the plate for republicans to run around with their hair on fire AND DID IT AGAIN FRIDAY with the letter.

He isn't THAT FUCKING STUPID.

He may have had a brief spasm of ethics while Buscho was wipping its ass with the Bill of Rights, but he man is a full on conservative with the seething, loathing hatred of the Clintons that comes along with it.

And, whatever bleeding of this shit coming from the ranks exists because they drones know the chief is on board with it.

4. I've tried to be fair and objective about this

I backed off wanting him fired, seeking more information before passing judgment.

Then I thought wistfully maybe that this would blow over and as long as Clinton is winning, I would hope he keeps quiet.

I've tried to be patient. But that WSJ article about the Clinton Foundation today in conjunction with the rape victim being threatened into silence is tampering with my patience and sense of fairness.

5. LOOK AT GIULIANI!!!

can we just be really honest? Last week on a Mon. or Tues., I was watching the morning talk shows on cnn,msnbc and fox news looking for new developments. Giuliani appeared on all of them finishing up with Fox with Martha Mccallum. Except on Fox, at the end of the interview he provided a tease saying that there is big news coming that will change the election followed be his disturbing snicker he always has. I believe it was a slip, because he did not say this on the other networks. Now we know he used to be Comey's boss and we know he has sources within the FBI and we know this is all he rails about. Surely he was not referring to Melania stumping as election changing,come on. Where is all of the investigative journalist? I'm not a conspiracy theorist but this is very, very telling in my opinion. Something is going on and we should contact and pressure news outlets to give this the attention it deserves, I know I am and you know the other side would be. Come on people. If true, this his highly unethical and potentially criminal. Help.

6. I have a question about a detail.

Great article about a scary situation that needs lots of light.

But I'm not sure how to read the following bit. If there was pressure from the DOJ to "slow walk" a Foundation investigation, isn't that a pro-Clinton activity?

8. That's a piece of the whole issue for me

We try to have faith in our institutions. I've tried to back off and give Comey the benefit of the doubt and let him respond to have his day in the court of public opinion.

But the Clinton Foundation (although I condemned her & Bill for doing that if they were going to run - even if they're completely innocent, it wasn't going to pass the smell test in public perception), how can they defend themselves against that FBI innuendo? Looks like the Comey letter, you and I are not going to get any answers before the election.

I don't what the FOIA rules are. The Rich pardon stuff should have come out this week.

Meanwhile, how many women that Trump raped or sexually assaulted got reminded of it in the last few weeks but couldn't come forward because they'd have to endure what the woman who have come forward have (ie one of them is leaving the country, many in tears, another had to call it off due to threats). But that does not deserve the attention of the mainstream media?

It's another sign to me that we're losing our way. Something is wrong with our priorities. A man like Trump should NEVER have been a candidate for POTUS in the first place. But now, with this BS, they're flirting with allowing it to come to pass. It's breathtakingly stupid but no one seems to be able to stop it.
