2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumNBC committed journalistic malpractice at their joke of a CIC forum.
They allowed trump to blather on with personal attacks, he did not even attempt to answer any of the questions asked, wasn't pressed on anything or called on his many lies.
NBC wasn't interested in presenting anything insightful to the American people, they ran another episode of a pathetic reality TeeVee show. Americans lives are not a game, this man doesn't know the first thing about government, the military, foreign intelligence. Nothing! I would bet money he doesn't know how a bill becomes law. We need to take the corporate media down. They're more interested in money than America or its citizens.

(7,884 posts)email NBC. I'm so pissed I can't sleep. Here is what the media SHOULD be talking about tomorrow:
1. Trump calling the current Generals worthless (in so many words)
2. Him saying we should have taken the oil
3. Him saying that it was clear from the briefing he received that the President didn't take their advise
4. Him saying he NEVER supported the war
5. There's something else but I can't remember.

(15,350 posts)watch it live, I read through the WaPo's annotated transcript this am. As so many in the comments noted, Clinton was asked not to attack her opponent. Instead, she basically answered the questions she was asked although nearly 1/3 of her allocated time was spent on emails and her "judgment." Of course.
Per the transcript, Trump evaded the questions - and was generally allowed to. His lies on Iraq and other issues were left unchallenged and he repeatedly managed to include attacks against HRC and Prez O in his non-answers.
For those who are interested, here's the WaPo transcript: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2016/09/07/the-first-hillary-clinton-vs-donald-trump-showdown-of-2016-annotated/#comments
And yes, I agree 100% that the corporate media are MUCH more interested in $$$$ (and ratings) than in actually practicing journalism.

(32,489 posts)The only way to take them down is to VOTE and change laws. 6 rich assholes are controlling the narrative because they can. They must be broken up into a million bits.
