Republicans can "handle" trump or hide him, they cannot change the fact

He revealed his true self. He's irrational and exhibits no self control. He possess no compassion or sympathy, he demonstrated the degree to which he can become unhinged by someone's accurate description of him. He lies pathologically. We've all been witness, there is no putting that genie back in the bottle.

GOOD LUCK WITH THAT GOP! I think they know they're fucked and will only work on holding Congress.

and they will tout any positive about Trump to the hills.

It's like a football game with Trump trailing by 50 points. If he can run a single play without fumbling, the media is ready to award him 51 points and declare the race is back to neck-and-neck.

And look at what happened in those. Trump could be down by 40 points on November 7th and they would still say that we don't know whats going to happen.

And by "people" I mean those in the media and at the RNC. I think they saw him skirting conventional wisdom and doing the opposite of successful campaigns in the past and thought "who, if he is doing this, he must have some brilliant master strategy at work. No presidential candidate would act like this if it wasn't some 12 dimensional chess shit or something."

Back in June with the attacking of the judge, some people starting to figure out that "ok, maybe this guy doesn't quite understand what he's doing but maybe he can recover". But by the end of the republican convention and the attacks on the Khan family, most now realize "ok, trump is clearly an erratic, racist, moron that stumbled into the nomination like a blind man that happened to find a nickel on the street."

So you're right, Trump has revealed his true self and the republicans are realizing that the odd but somehow captivating doctor is actually just a mental patient that stole a lab coat and is speaking gibberish.

And trump is well suited for a game where trashing other people's reputations gets the kicked off the island one by one.

Fortunately for us, he is very ill-equipped to handle a general election, which requires a different strategy.
