2016 Postmortem

(17,303 posts)Both celebratory and sad at the same time. I genuinely see the wisdom in two-term limits for the POTUS. Far too many politicians have allowed power to corrupt them, but Obama is going out with his head held high and an approval rating that is climbing, indicating that even his detractors are finally realizing that this principled man has accomplished much despite rampant obstructionism.
All US presidents are foreign policy hawks, but outside of that he's a thoroughly decent man.

(11,605 posts)I too will be very sad on January 20 no matter who wins. But I will be glad to see him go without any major scandals, with his integrity in tact, and hopefully his approval rating as high as it is now or higher.

(268,967 posts)I like some of the things he does and he's easy to like in an affectionate way (even from a distance).
