(39 posts)is so ignorant that he talks and doesn't hear what's coming out of his mouth. To suggest a cyber search by the Russians for missing government emails is treasonous to the nth degree. T.T. (Traitor tRump) is always looking for that 10-second sound bite. To borrow the chant from his campaign with a slight change "Lock him up" . Added Post script: thirty minutes later T.T. said he was "just joking". WTF ????

(442 posts)get to the point where they would support and encourage another country to help them win an election! Just like the 1950s we had more to fear from the right within our country than soviet spies . . . Now the right is inviting the Russians to rig our elections! Heaven help us!

(4,033 posts)I don't think there is anything in the rules covering the situation. I don't think that necessarily the guy who was basically appointed to the veep slot automatically becomes the nominee, since he never ran for the office.
Could be interesting.

(442 posts)just bail on these negotiated positions . . . How would you like to be in the US military today when we no longer have any international standards of agreed treatment for prisoners of war??? This dude is beyond scarey!!!!! He is the devil come to earth . . . and should be the one feared by the far right. My only fear is that he is doing and spewing this kind of talk 4+ months before the election . . . what can we expect as an October Surprise??????

(7,723 posts)and of course the GOP can't see it at all-- so blinded by hate!

(10,857 posts)I don't think there is much doubt among us that Trump is a national security liability and that he is apparently under the sway of a foreign nuclear power.
But he's also a vapid, insincere, narcissistic fool who is easily manipulated. The danger that he now represents to the United States largely disappears the moment he steps out of the race (though we will have to contend with the awful legacy he has created for decades to come).
The way to lead him out of this is just like the way that Bush*s handlers led him around by the nose, by presenting him with a couple of clear, pre-arranged choices which lead to the same ultimate decision. No, I do not yet know what those choices are, how to present them, or who would do it.
But I can guess what the ultimate decision needs to be: Trump can remain an obnoxious public figure by deciding himself that all of this is too much trouble and he's over it. The public interest is served without evoking a Constitutional crisis, and Trump continues to do the Lords work for us by destroying the Republican Party from the outside, rather than destroying America from within the White House.
How do we work toward that objective?
