(68,868 posts)the primary is over, people need to get the fuck over it

(2,979 posts)No. Not ever.

(2,979 posts)She needs to be out of the Democratic party. She's poison.
Chief.
geek tragedy
(68,868 posts)There's nothing more to accomplish along these lines. It's just toxic vengeance-seeking at this point.

(3,226 posts)DWS is no longer helping Hillary, she is hurting her, she need to go away NOW for the good of the party and for Hillary!!!!!
geek tragedy
(68,868 posts)But that's a separate issue from "Hillary is oppressing me because she didn't burn DWS at the stake" type of crap coming from the Jill Stein crowd.
awake
(3,226 posts)Hillary did not need DWS finger on the scale and now DWS own ego can not see the harm that she is doing to Hillary and the party
major debacle
(508 posts)What does that say about her?
MynameisBlarney
(2,979 posts)You seem to be concluding that because some folks are extremely displeased with DWS still being involved with HRC and her campaign, at whatever capacity that we're going to vote for Stein.

geek tragedy
(68,868 posts)it's some bullshit about being in charge of the 50 state strategy.
it's a face-saving move.
but the grievance hoarders are peddling fauxtrage precisely because there's not enough humiliation to satisfy their impulse to punish and harm
virtualobserver
(8,760 posts)Theres simply no one better at taking the fight to the Republicans than Debbie, Clinton said, which is why I am glad that she has agreed to serve as honorary chair of my campaigns 50-state program to gain ground and elect Democrats in every part of the country, and will continue to serve as a surrogate for my campaign nationally, in Florida, and in other key states.
geek tragedy
(68,868 posts)that's humiliation
But, not enough for those with a psychological need to see their opponents suffer

Not one of Clinton's better choices.

(7,581 posts)But Hillary is really stupid for doing this.
geek tragedy
(68,868 posts)nothing but withdrawing from the race and giving the nomination to Sanders would satisfy them.
It's people who haven't processed their hurt fee-fees over the primary whining about this.
babylonsister
(171,107 posts)and that would be the DNC and DWS, NOT any poster here.
geek tragedy
(68,868 posts)hide from the cameras.
That doesn't justify people bashing Clinton because they didn't get to humiliate DWS enough for to satisfy their psychological craving for revenge.
babylonsister
(171,107 posts)we will be seeing her daily through November, so I don't know if she'll be leaving or not. I agree with you, she should. And she has earned the humiliation, it's not just some desire put forth by people who don't like or agree with her.
MynameisBlarney
(2,979 posts)This is NOT vengeance seeking, it's wanting to better our chances for victory in November.
Why do you have a problem with that?
geek tragedy
(68,868 posts)She is out of the party leadership. She is facing a primary challenger.
You don't have the right to demand that she be ex-communicated.
The primary is over. People need to get the fuck over it. If they don't, they will not be coddled.
MynameisBlarney
(2,979 posts)DWS is bad news for the party.
Bad news for HRC's campaign.
Why do you keep telling me the primary is over? Do you think I don't fucking know that?
geek tragedy
(68,868 posts)hoarding grievances isn't healthy
MynameisBlarney
(2,979 posts)For the umpteenth fucking time.
This is about wanting our party to win in Nov, not "hoarding grievances".
Surya Gayatri
(15,445 posts)As if DWS, serving as ceremonial head of HRC's 50-State Outreach, will be the deciding factor in bitter-enders' choice?
Bullshit. A big stinking pile.
MynameisBlarney
(2,979 posts)And HRC's campaign?
I want the win in Nov. Keeping DWS around lowers the chances of that considerably IMHO.

That's fucking bullshit.

(934 posts)Did you want to throw Sanders out of the party when two of his staffers stole data?
MynameisBlarney
(2,979 posts)An email?
One?
annavictorious
(934 posts)There was one email in which two staffers kicked around a very bad talking point that was never implemented. That's your case. What else is there?
A reference to DWS calling Jeff Weaver an ass and an email from Jake Tapper fishing for dirt. (The DNC communication person didn't bite, and responded with a reference to...Ted Cruz.)
That's it. Those are the explosive revelations from the explosive emails.
Sounds to me like Rapey Julian ate somebody's lunch.

(934 posts)Out of 20,000 emails released, there was one in which two staffers discussed a really terrible talking point that was never implemented and another in which DWS called Jeff Weaver a a liar and an ass after he accused her of running an illegal slush fund.
Were you equally as outraged when two Sanders staffers stole data? Did you blame their boss? Did you hold Tad Devine or Jeff Weaver responsible and demand their resignations?
Of course you didn't. The two Sanders staffers who committed an actual crime (as opposed to the thought crime committed by the two DNC staffers) resigned, and we all moved on. Did you blame Sanders? Did you point to a culture of corruption and dirty tricks in his campaign? Did you want Further Steps Taken? No.
It seems to me that the agenda at this point is to wreck the convention. Why on earth would Democrats want to do such a thing?
jonno99
(2,620 posts)annavictorious
(934 posts)You have read the actual email, right? It was between two staffers. DWS wasn't even cc'd. And their ridiculous talking point was never implemented.
Sanders was in charge when two of his staffers stole data in February. Did you demand that he drop out of the race?
Here's the explosive email for anyone posting who has not actually read it.

(5,191 posts)She presided over a Primary Process that, not just favored one candidate over another, rather, it actively tried to undermine another. That is Nixonian.
If you think that's just dandy, you have no ethics or sense of fairness. Explain to me why DWS working to under cut Bernie Sanders was OK!
annavictorious
(934 posts)Who are you speaking for?
I suggest we do the same thing that we did after the data theft in February. Hold the two parties who did it responsible and move on.
The two DNC staffers who kicked around a very stupid talking point that was never implemented should be held responsible for the thought crime that they committed. And DWS shouldn't have called Jeff Weaver an ass, even though he might be one and even though it was her reaction to Weaver accusing her of a crime.
Yes, I'll admit that it was wrong to think think bad thoughts and call someone an ass.
Now keep your side of the bargain, and get over it.

(60,352 posts)Everyone who opposes Hillary thinks they have to post it again and it has to be posted in every forum.
They think if you read it enough times you will be brainwashed and sympathetic to their cause. And at this point, I only see one cause they can be pushing for and I will not participate in that.

You were the one making it about the party. The media is having a field day on the protest and the fact that they are BS supporters.

And don't even get us started on the anti-semitism/anti-atheism.

The primary is over it. The people still nursing their grievances over having lost a primary election need to grow up.

(7,581 posts)In a year with many angry voters. And I know many women terrified of Trump who also say they will NEVER vote for Hillary. And I don't like her VP pick, because I think she is centrist and so is he.
As a strong woman myself, I respect her greatly for her accomplishments. She never backed down, like they made Michelle Obama do, and she never took the safe route.
I just fear she can't win.

MynameisBlarney
(2,979 posts)Excuse the fuck out of me.
And yes, I do know what honorary means. Do you know what toxic means?
DWS needs to be shunned. Hillary should not have anything to do with her. And quite frankly, neither should the Democratic Party.

The Clintons can pay her back for her loyalty in other ways. Get her consulting gigs. Get her on corporate boards. Get her kids into Harvard. But she needs to disappear from the campaign and the DNC.
