It took a while, but I am all in for Clinton

How anyone could watch a nano second of that convention and vote for any of those people defies all logic and reason. They are inciting hate and divisiveness. They have nothing to offer people but hate and pain. It's difficult to believe we are in America right now. I bet a lot of us Bernie supporters are going to come to the same realization. Trump is dangerous and cannot be allowed anywhere near 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

White hate on full display. Remember the 2008 campaign when McCain was in WI (I think) and the guy was foaming at the mouth screaming about taking "our" country back? Multiply that by 100 and that is what we are seeing in Cleveland. no substance, just pure hatred. Bu we ain't seen nothing yet, to borrow a line from an old song. As the election gets closer, what we see now will be multiplied by 1000.

Wed Jul 20, 2016, 04:23 PM

I would have to be so fricking selfish that it wouldn't matter how women, minorities and LGBTQ citizens will suffer with Trump as President. I would have to be a selfish prick and say that the only thing matters is ME. It matters that I have this set of issues that I support and if someone doesn't match it 100% then fuck it, I'll go vote 3rd party to find someone who comes closer to that match.

I won't care that under a Trump Presidency it won't make much of a difference with my life. I have a decent job, some savings and a fixed-rate mortgage. I'm past child-bearing years and done with my education so won't matter about that either. I would essentially have to say 'Fuck all of you it's about me'.

Well I can't think about my vote that way.

I think of everyone. And I realize that things won't be perfect under Hillary Clinton and I would suspect a few times she might even piss me off with what she does as President. But statically speaking I agree with Hillary Clinton anywhere from 85%-90% of the issues where she stands. It will be a far cry easier protesting that 10-15% where we don't agree then fighting ANYTHING and EVERYTHING, which would be a Trump Presidency.

And those Supreme Court Nominations are LIFETIME appointments. God forbid another Thomas or Scalia gets on the bench, one that is 50 years old. Your children and grandchildren will have to live with the decisions passed by that Supreme Court. Are my sensitive feelings about the few issues I disagree with Hillary Clinton that much more important that the civil rights of future generations? Hell no.

Hillary Clinton would not run the country by herself. So we can fight to get a better congress to help shape that future.

Who knows how long RBG will be around. 2 lifetime appts by Pence (that's who will do it) take a look at his record/views on LGBT, women, etc. I counldn't even imagine...

While Clinton/Dems may not be perfect on the environment, that shithead Trump took a helicopter like 1300 feet today (not sure exactly but it was walking distance) AFTER arriving on his giant plane. This is who he is. Anyone concerned about the environment who thinks Trump might not be as bad as Clinton...loses their credibility & the right to complain. Period.

Don't keep fighting the last Democratic presidential primary

Regardless of whether you supported a winning candidate or a losing candidate, do not prolong the agony of the last Democratic presidential primary by continuing to pick fights, place blame, tear down former primary candidates, bait former supporters, or do anything else to pour salt on old wounds.
Why we have this rule: Most of our members want this to be forward-looking, friendly community that is focused on creating a better future for our country. Continuing to rehash old fights that have already been resolved is divisive and counter-productive.

Just a heads up. We have moved on from the primaries. Bernie accomplished a lot and yes he did move the party platform more to the left. But we have a bigger fight to focus on now.

We are a major player on the international stage - militarily, economically, culturally, etc. Just because many Americans don't pay attention to global affairs doesn't mean the rest of the world is as oblivious.

I seriously believe Trump being elected (no way he would actually serve his full term - he doesn't have the attention span) would have major impacts on the world financial markets, our credit rating, hell even our credibility is going to take a nose dive.

How the hell would we be able to negotiate trade deals after all the xenophobic rhetoric? Even if Trump stepped down the next day, the damage would be done. It's one thing to be a narcissistic egomaniac, its another thing to have a country full of people that vote for him.

I understand that there are people who hate Clinton and are tearing their hair out, comparing her to Trump and vowing to vote for anyone but her "to send a message". Well that message isn't really going to be seen to be about Clinton. If Trump wins (shudder) - the rest of the world won't be saying "See the American people have voted and they reject Clinton and her policies" - nope they are going to be saying "WTF, the American people support and approve of Trump and all he stands for"

And if enough of us engage actively, maybe we can get her all on for us. Every inch of progressive change is worth working for.

I am NOT 'all in' for Clinton ...

I won't let fear of bad men force my hands to pull a lever I am loathe to pull ...

I will vote for her this once ...

Afterwards, I will be ACTIVELY seeking to toss out the Third Way assholes who have stolen my party ...

Or? ...if the party doesn't rediscover it's roots, I will leave it ...

I'm not all in for a bunch of fucking conservatives ... No fucking way ...

I actually didn't sleep last night.
