2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIs it true that LA County officially flipped to Bernie Sanders?
I read on DU that LA county officially flipped to Bernie.
However, when I go to the California Secretary of State's website, it shows Hillary's lead is 11.7%:
http://vote.sos.ca.gov/returns/president/party/democratic/county/los-angeles/
I thought those were the official results.
Anyone have more information on this?

(58,785 posts)Otoh, as an ex- Californian I literally expect donkeys to fly first. Nothing against Bernie, but LAC is extremely diverse. Bernie could creep closer, so Hillary didn't "win" by so much, but "flipping" LAC isn't going to happen.
In any case, since there is 0 chance, even if he "won" by a nice margin that he could pick up enough delegates beyond what is expected to change anything at all, I say...whatever....

(11,607 posts)But I still think it is worth paying attention to the count for the purpose of exposing any disenfranchisement issues. It is in the interest of the Democratic Party to do so. Hillary may have California locked up but I am sure there are competitive downballot races there.

If true, Bernie might win a seat on the galactic council.

Bernie supporter saying he did yesterday here on this site, and all I could do was smile
True, Hillary's lead got smaller, but she won California (LA County) by a solid amount.

(24,689 posts)LA county has 18 districts.

From my calculations it looks like District 34 represents less than 7% of the total LA county vote.
So although this might be noteworthy to those living in that district its insignificant in the big picture.

(89 posts)They are their own cities, bell, bellflower, downy. All run their own police, etc.
Only part of downtown looks to have flipped, and that's the only part of LA city.
And yes they are all part of LA county but I thought that would help some understand.
