OP
Yes, we no longer have to fear a stalker behind every bush, metaphorically speaking!

I know exactly how you feel. I took a break as soon as Hillary wrapped it up for sure and ther was no argument left for Sanders to take to SDs. Also the Orlando shooting was to much as a gay man and as someone with Puerto Rican heritage. So I needed a break. But I need positivity and so I'm glad we transitioned away from the vitriol of GDP. I feel very safe.

It has been tough. There are Puerto Ricans I know from the island and from NYC who relocated to Orlando. Fortunately, I personally knew no one killed or hurt but I know people who did. And I've been to Pulse nightclub before to celebrate a friend's birthday. So the whole thing is very emotional in general but made even more so because of those cultural connections. I can't imagine what it's like for people who live there and who lost loved ones.
So yes...the timing of this shift of the end of GDP couldn't have come at a better time. Was tired of the bickering and insults.

Even though I'm a newb, I could see that GDP was making Stalin's Russia look like my high school debating society!

It feels so ... clean. It will be nice to look at discussions about the Democratic nominee without experiencing feelings of dread.
