I have not followed what is going on in NH--looks like a quiet convention.

NH Democrats pass resolution calling for superdelegate reform at state convention

But attempt by Sanders supporters to open floor to platform amendment, more resolutions fail

UPDATED 4:25 PM EDT Jun 18, 2016

BEDFORD, N.H. —Before hearing from Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and their own candidates for top office, New Hampshire Democrats passed a package of resolutions, including a call to reform the superdelegate system at their annual state convention at Bedford High School on Saturday.

A resolution calling for reform of the national Democratic Party’s superdelegate process to reflect the will of first-in-the-nation primary voters is among the resolutions to be considered by New Hampshire Democratic Party at its convention on Saturday.

Supporters of Bernie Sanders tried unsuccessfully to open the floor of the convention to amendments to the platform and to the resolutions that were put forward by the convention platform committee.

The Sanders supporters wanted stronger language to make clear that in future election cycles, superdelegates should be apportioned to candidates proportionally to the will of the voters in the first-in-the-nation primary.

The Sanders bloc of delegates also sought to have the convention floor opened to platform amendments from the floor, to be added to those presented by the platform committee.

Both moves were voted down, by lopsided votes of 293-140 and 297-175, with both vote totals falling far short of the announced 752 delegates at the convention.

....................

The moves were prompted by frustration felt by the Sanders forces in New Hampshire because six of eight superdelegates backed Hillary Clinton even before Sanders defeated her in a 60 percent to 38 percent landslide in the first-in-the-nation primary on Feb. 9. None of the six changed their allegiance to Clinton after the vote.

There was no protest by the Sanders supporters after their attempts failed, however -- unlike the raucous scenes at Democratic conventions in a few other states earlier in the year. Sanders top leaders said their main goal was to have votes on the measures, and they did not expect either to pass.

“It was a fair vote,” said former Sanders New Hampshire campaign political director Kurt Ehrenberg. “We didn’t have the votes to win, so that’s fine. We were treated in a way that was respectful and fair, and we’ll move on from here.”

Ehrenberg said that eventually, Sanders supporters will coalesce behind Hillary Clinton, just as Sanders himself pledged on Thursday night to work to get Clinton elected president.

...........................

“But really, the unifier in all of this is going to be Donald Trump and the nasty campaign he is waging against working people, minorities, and it’s going to unify everyone,” Ehrenberg said.

He said Trump is “delusional” if he truly believes Sanders supporters will eventually support him rather than Clinton in the general election.........................................
