More than half of Fortune 500 CEOs say they would prefer Hillary Clinton to win the White House instead of Donald Trump, according to a new survey.
Fifty-eight percent of the CEOs said they would support Clinton, the front-runner for the Democratic nomination, while 42 percent would support Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, according to a survey conducted last month by Fortune and released on Wednesday.
Big company CEOs tend to lean heavily Republican," the survey said.
"But most of the 500 operate on a global scale, and many disagree with Trumps proposals for raising trade barriers. Some also have been rattled by his stance on immigration, or by his comments showing little understanding of public finance."

(146,351 posts)Donald Trump is a loose cannon. As President, he might well do any damned thing you could imagine or even worse. It's a concern every thinking person has, regardless of political leanings.

(146,351 posts)That's a fact. It is not in most people's interest that the business community be disrupted. That's also a fact.
A collapse of corporate America would be a disaster of overwhelming proportions. Donald Trump could trigger such a collapse.
Sorry, but defeating Trump is in the best interest of everyone. Period.

(146,351 posts)you know. That's my point. As I said, most people's living comes from corporations in one way or another. Even mine. I'm self-employed, but every company I work for on a contract basis is incorporated. One way or another, we all work for corporations, large and small. And small ones deal with larger ones, and so on and so on.
Corporations are the foundation of our economy. That's simply a fact.

(4,311 posts)So they should. Trump wants to blow up the world. That is bad for business (except mercenaries and rebuilding companies).

(10,164 posts)Trump's one of them (sort of), and not only are most CEOs smart enough to realize what a nutjob he is, they also have no leverage over him. He doesn't need their money. Bernie's the mortal enemy of their oligarchic influence. Their choice is obvious...
