2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIt may not seem like it now, but Bernie's going to look like a real ass when
all the pledged delegates have been elected and he's trailing by between 200 and 300 of them, if he still insists that he should be the nominee.
For now he can get by with his Forrest Gump impression when anyone asks him about delegate math, but once Hillary hits the mark, no more. He's going to have to own the fact that he's trying to overturn the voters by using superdelegates, trying to get establishment insiders to push him up against the will of the people.
There's no way to do that without looking like a total ass.

You two should buddy up

(5,737 posts)Yep, I've had posts hidden. When the term "uppity" does it, then that says a lot.

(45,251 posts)since I could vote. But, why is that your business and what does it have to do with your profile or YouDig's?

(45,251 posts)Why are you so worried about how he is going to look? I'm not.
You obviously hate him anyway and he looks fine to those who support him.
I do appreciate your concern, though.

(2,280 posts)If he keeps it up after all the primary votes are in, it will be a naked undemocratic power-grab.
merrily
(45,251 posts)Because the only thing I've seen or heard is that he is fighting for every vote, same thing Hillary has said for months.

(45,251 posts)Bernie will do whatever he ends up doing. I don't have a crystal ball or psychic powers and neither do you. I really don't see the point in pretending that you or I know what Bernie will do. I certainly don't know why Hillary supporters are perseverating so intensely over what Bernie will do and I'm not.

I'm having a difficult time hanging around here of late. It is what it is, but folks like you keep me able to be sane here!
I really have to take a walk.

(30,481 posts)He is appealing to only two groups. Clinton haters on the right and people on the left who are already voting for him. His expansion of believers stopped a while back. With that, there is no way to look like anything other than an ass to everyone outside of those two groups and to many in the second part of those groupings.

(45,319 posts)affront to democracy when in fact it is a principle element of it and a fully agreed upon process. It's an election. It's not territorial warfare. In this case, your candidate is one who ran until the very end while trailing the whole time just a few short years ago so braying about how offensive it is to do that looks exceptionally self serving at best.
