2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumFor those Hillary supporters complaining about "class warfare"...
It was the 1% that starting in the 70s, decided that they would not be good citizens and pay their fair share of taxes anymore and contribute to the betterment of society as a whole, and actively supported politicians that would reduce their taxes at the expense of the rest of society (especially putting more of the tax burden on the middle class) and that would promote bullshit theories (like trickle down economics) that would redirect money away from the middle class and onto the 1%. They basically decided to go rogue and actively promote the destruction of a harmonious civilization and at the same time would immensely profit from it. In other words, they started this war against the rest of us and have been at war against the 99% for over 40 years.

It's funny, but it used to be very easy to spot right wing intruders here. Now, who can tell?
Sure, that person unleashing a McCarthyite screed about the dam commies, or griping about lazy kids who won't get a haircut and a job, or declaring that ten or twelve bucks an hour is good enough for people out in the sticks might be a freeper with an extra chromosome but might also be a Progressive Who Wants to Get Things Done.
How can we even know anymore?

(10,721 posts)And that suggesting not all wealthy people are evil constitutes class warfare?
While I certainly agree that many who bring up "class warfare," like those who complain about "political correctness," are typically bigoted @ssholes, I don't really see much of that on DU. Some, perhaps, but the OP is terribly misleading and amounts to nothing more than a straw man argument.

(16,376 posts)For daring to bring up anything with an economic position to the left of Reagan. I guess the accusation can now be made by so-called Democrats, since they've taken over the moderate Republican agenda.

I recommend starting with the Robber Baron era, though there are plenty of other examples in the past 250 years or so.
Class warfare is nothing new. It's been around about as long as humans have been around, and it's certainly been around for more than 40 years. It's the same crap, just repackaged every generation or two.

(10,721 posts)It's certainly possible that I missed it, as I don't read nearly every post, but I haven't seen any mention of class warfare.

(10,721 posts)So, the OP is either not referring to DU posters or is just making sh*t up, which is pretty common around here.
As to "adamantly refuse to pay their share in taxes and deride the poor," do you have some links?

(12,769 posts)Just try looking up some adamant Hillary posters. Pretty easy to find. One shares the first 4 letters of Hillary's name.

And the OP very specifically suggested Clinton supporters are complaining about "class warfare." DU is littered with straw men (such as suggesting that Clinton supporters are claiming Clinton will reach 2383 via pledged delegates alone), and this is yet another one.

(12,769 posts)I'll give you another hint though. Try Bernie and raise taxes.

(10,721 posts)When asked to back up a claim, it's absurd to tell the person asking for proof that the burden of proof is on them.
We've settled the matter of the OP being wrong. And now we're moving on to your claim that "plenty" of Clinton supporters are refusing to pay their fair share in taxes and have derided the poor by calling them lazy. If that's so, you should have no trouble pointing me to at least a handful of posts that do just that. I await your links.
And keep in mind that suggesting Sanders would have a tough time getting elected due to his proposed tax policies is not the same as what you're saying "plenty" have done, which is refusing to pay their fair share and deriding the poor.

(10,721 posts)I guess, like the OP, you simply don't have any evidence to back up your claim. No big deal. Thanks for confirming my suspicion.
