That is why we have primaies and why Hillary won. MORE PEOPLE want her ideas in the democratic party! It really is as simple as that. YOU do NOT get what you want! Hillary does.

(13,685 posts)Welcome to DU, vt_native.
I'd say if the vote were to be taken again today in the south, given what has transpired and the fact that many of the south's voters didn't even know who Sanders was back then, we would see far more even totals from the south.
The media ignored Bernie and that allowed H with years of free exposure from her husband's name, to be a popular favorite and that is the only reason she won so much across the country and especially in the south.
No matter, the super delegates will fix the errors and vote to nominate Bernie.

(31,540 posts)Even down here we have newspapers, TV and the internet. While Bernie might not be as well known as Hillary around these parts, we know who he is and had heard enough from him and about him to make informed decisions when we voted. A majority of us prefer Hillary as our Democratic nominee.
I wouldn't bet the farm on those super delegates voting for Bernie a kond overturning the obvious choice of those who voted.

(6,409 posts)Our party does not offer us candidates who support genuine Democratic ideals. And we ave been kind of OK with that, waiting for a time when this third way, not-quite-Republican nonsense would run its course. It almost happened this time, even with a guy who is not connected within the party, so we're getting close. We may eventually get what we want, instead of what our party feeds us in order to avoid offending the people who give it money. Could happen.

(10,749 posts)Let's put aside the ongoing disputes ofboter numbers and take your assumption that she has won more votes.
That says nothin about acceptance of her ideas, merely the apparent preference for her instead of Bernie. That's not necessarily because of her ideas. There are voters who believe she has a better chance of getting things done. There are voters who prefer a woman president. There are voters who like her more. These may or may not be good reasons, but they definitely do not address the preference for her ideas.
