Clinton Will Likely Clinch The Democratic Nomination In New JerseyBy Harry Enten MAY 24, 2016 AT 7:14 AM
Weve known for some time that Hillary Clinton will almost certainly be the Democratic nominee. But when will she clinch the nomination?
If you look at the few remaining contests on the Democratic primary calendar, the major news outlets barring something devastating happening to the Clinton campaign in the next few weeks are likely to declare Clinton the nominee on June 7. More specifically, New Jersey will likely push Clinton across the finish line, and she may clinch the nomination even before the polls close in California.

(11 posts)Superdelegates do not officially vote until in the convention. Until then, the superdelegates can and will change their mind.
Until then, Clinton still needs 600+ delegates, and NJ will not clinch it, and neither will California.
See you in Philadelphia.

(11 posts)I thought this was a Democratic Underground and I was within the Terms of Service. Apparently I'm not allowed to post what to say.
I'll go find somewhere else to post, as I am feeling uncomfortable and apparently Clinton is not interested in obtaining my vote.

(15,429 posts)Barack Obama clinched the 2008 nomination on June 3 after the last primary BY ROLLING OUT AN ADDITIONAL 60 SUPER DELEGATES!
He was counting Super Delegate endorsements already in his hand in the total as well to go over the 2,117 "magic number".
So your entire argument is complete and total bullshit.

(2,052 posts)In actuality no.
All the Supers have done is voice an opinion. They will not vote until July. They only way a candidate could clinch before the convention is with 2383 pledged.
Asked and answered many times.

But out here in the real world HRC clinches in NJ.

Did the whiplash hurt?
But you all reminded us that rules are rules. Tad Devine gave us this you pounded into our brains. You all were right. Rules are rules
