Sanders will name five members and Clinton six, based on the number of popular votes each has received to date, one official said. Democratic Party Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz will name four. The campaign choices were selected in consultation with the campaigns and the DNC from larger slates of 12 and 10 suggested by the campaigns...."

(12,081 posts)be a meaningless gesture. The Democratic Party really has no intention of changing what they do or stand for. It certainly won't be enough to to earn my vote.

(37,428 posts)It's what all those votes and delegates buy.
It wasn't like we were going to elect Sanders and then go to sleep for 4-8 years. The resulting platform will be a written deal, and the nominee who doesn't live up to it will just face the same challenges again and again from a growing demographic.
It's good.

(12,081 posts)Aren't they already supposed to work to help the middle class, the poor, the disabled? They have not lived up to the platform they have. That is why just changing the platform will not earn my vote. If they can back it up with actions, then maybe down the line I'll think about voting for the Democratic candidate. I have to see evidence. I vote based on voting records and past performance, not future promises.

(16,916 posts)DWS should resign immediately, and be replaced by a clear progressive. The 15 seats should be divided 8/7

(27,787 posts)Not sure how you come up with 8/7.
DWS doesn't have to give Bernie any.

(757 posts)"Major Input" would be input at level that can't just be steamrolled over, eh?
