Nancy Pelosi, House Minority leader and first female Speaker of The House did not endorse Hillary Clinton today to be the first female President, and Democrats are in a full panic.
But House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Reps. Barbara Lee, Alan Lowenthal and Norma Torres said they arent ready to publicly support either Clinton or Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who is popular butlagging in delegates.
Lowenthal, from Long Beach, said hes still watching the candidates and doesnt expect to announce a choice before California votes next month. As a state senator, Lowenthal endorsed Barack Obama in January 2008.
He said he and the other undecided House members talk privately about what to do and when to endorse. He said announcing support strategically could help bring the Democratic Party together.
A lot of us think that were going to play a major role in making sure that we unify behind our candidate. Were going to have to really be very actively involved, all of us
to make sure that we come together and make sure that we dont split apart, like we are watching on the Republican side, Lowenthal said.

She has stamina and grace this lady does and I've always liked her.
She'd also be an excellent VP choice eh Bernie Sanders?

Neither Pelosi's nor any other politician's endorsement means anything to me anyway.
I''m a better judge of character than most of them and have nothing to lose or gain by expressing my honest opinion, and I do not like Hillary.
I'm not a huge Pelosi fan, but it is telling that she has hesitated to endorse anyone. So many Democratic power-hungry have endorsed Hillary in spite of all her drawbacks and character flaws plus her horrible public presentation skills, there must be some reason that Pelosi has not joined the herd.

A source familiar with her thinking told Politico that Pelosi fears that an endorsement could reduce voter turnout in her state's primary on June 7.

If we cannot look at what and why women like Steinam and Albright said what they did, without emotion (you know, hysteria), then you are a feminist in name only.
Edit: The Democratic base includes the feminist community. This is addressing the part where I state sanders has one base, and it excludes much of the Democratic base, hence his loss.

(2,198 posts)Pelosi was a far, far better leader than DWS.
Both articles below are from March, 2008:
In their letter to Pelosi, the backers urged the House speaker to "clarify your position on super-delegates and reflect in your comments a more open view to the optional independent actions of each of the delegates at the National Convention in August."
"If the votes of the superdelegates overturn what happened in the elections it would be harmful to the Democratic Party," Pelosi said.
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/03/27/clinton-backers-scold-pelosi-on-superdelegate-comment/
(CNN) - A recent letter from several Hillary Clinton fundraisers to Nancy Pelosi seeking she step back from her contention that superdelegates should support the pledged-delegate leader appears to have had little effect on the House Speaker.
Pelosi spokesman Brendan Daly said late Wednesday the California Democrat stands by her argument that the party's superdelegates would do damage if they go against the will of voters and hand the nomination to the candidate who finished second among those delegates awarded from the round of caucuses and primaries.
"The speaker believes it would do great harm to the Democratic Party if superdelegates are perceived to overturn the will of the voters," Daly said. "This has been her position throughout this primary season, regardless of who was ahead at any particular point in delegates or votes.
The statement comes a day after nearly 20 high-profile Clinton fundraisers strongly criticized Pelosi for that position, arguing instead that the superdelegates "have an obligation to make an informed, individual decision about whom to support and who would be the partys strongest nominee."

Prntly was founded in 2014 by Alex Portelli, a former libertarian candidate for Mayor, and now political activist. He has been involved with many aspects of the conservative movement, and has recently endorsed Donald Trump. As the blog section of Prntly expanded, the print side of the company took second stage, but was still providing help to candidates like Ben Carson in New Hampshire through beautiful printing supplies.

I'm not sure exactly what you were getting at in your post, but I will agree that much of the internet generation doesn't really understand the difference between 'liberal' and 'libertarian'. Of course, most adults don't know what 'libertarian' actually means, so there's that.

(521 posts)The OP made it sound like Pelosi was not endorsing Hillary now or ever, but, in fact, she's not endorsing either Clinton or Sanders at this time -- just like Obama, Biden, Elizabeth Edwards, etc. Powerhouses such as this usually wait until the end of the primaries. Most likely Pelosi will throw her support behind Hillary, once she officially becomes the nominee.

(6,007 posts)"strategic" to bring the party together. That is in no way saying they are for Bernie. I read it that they are for Clinton, but don't want to make the stupid mistakes that Boxer did when she tried to make the NV convention into a Hillary victory rally.
They're saying they want to be smart (about when they announce support for Hillary, I assume). I mean, when you represent California, how stupid do you have to be to select your candidate before your state has even voted. People would rightly see that as prejudicing the vote.

So the headline may be an "attack", but not the content that was posted...and being there was no link, I couldn't go read the rest of it at the source to see if the headline there matched, or if there was something negative in the article itself.
On the grounds of what I see, I don't see an attack.
Even if Hillary campaign is upset over not getting these endorsements now, I don't see that as an attack.

It's politically prudent for her. After California, the contest will be all done, and then she can go ahead and say, "All right, let's go with who we have."
Would that Boxer had exhibited the same common sense and political acumen.

(7,960 posts)Bill & Hill ratfucked Brown big time in the 92 NY primary. The novel "Primary Colors" was based on that episode. People were calling in to the NY talk shows saying that they had personal knowledge that Brown was gay. The worst was when some anonymous CA State Troopers came forward alleging that Brown had turned a blind eye to recreational drug use by former girlfriend Linda Ronstadt and her friends and may have indulged himself while in office.
