http://time.com/4328093/correct-record-clinton-super-pac-ad-web-video-broadcast/snip
pro-Clinton hybrid super PAC Correct the Record, aired nationally numerous times this week on network news programs, including those on Fox News and CNN. It even earned breaking news billing on CNN Tonight with Don Lemon, garnering a 20-minute dissection by Lemon, chief political correspondent Dana Bash and various political pundits.
Whats notable about this anti-Trump Web video indistinguishable in production quality from the hundreds of thousands of political ads blanketing U.S. airwaves is that Correct the Record is getting its airtime for free via these news programs, instead of paying to air them during commercial breaks. Correct the Record therefore avoids the five-figure costs typical to reserve such an ad spot.

(146,350 posts)I don't know if it's equal, but cable news is always looking for someone to blab on camera. They couldn't survive without it.

(146,350 posts)I read that. I never have the TV on on Sunday at all. I'm out working in the yard, walking the dog, or doing something else. I do not watch television beyond the morning and late afternoon broadcast news on my local CBS affiliate. I drink coffee with the news in the morning and have my cocktail hour during the late afternoon news.
I'm on my computer or out of the house the rest of the time. I can access any news I like at any time I wish.

(146,350 posts)Who watches Sunday news programming? I have no idea, but it's obviously enough people to keep it on the air. As I said, not me. I added more explanation. Sorry to disappoint you.

(1,595 posts)by MSNBC a lot. In fact, if not for MSNBC Bernie would not still be in. The super pac ad talked about in the OP is a anti-Trump super pac that is only to stop Trump.
There is data. Trump gets the most and Bernie is second.

media matters is just another corporate, corrupt extension of hc's campaign

(146,350 posts)The 24/7 news cycle has to have content. They give time to all sorts of people. Cable News does this constantly, and with all parties and candidates, along with their surrogates, PAC heads and others. They have to fill all that time with someone talking.
The ads go mostly on commercial broadcast TV, which has many times the number of viewers as cable news. Without all of those spokespeople, the cable news wouldn't have any content worth mentioning.

(146,350 posts)Zero. I watch only my local CBS affiliate's local and national news programs, morning and dinner hour. The rest of my news, I get online and from sources I trust.
I can't remember the last time I saw anything on a cable news outlet. I don't have time for that.

(56,582 posts)It's an interesting outcome of having 24-hour news channels: they have to fill time, so if you say something outrageous, they will talk about you.
