2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumEverything that I was leery about when Bernie Sanders first decided to run
in the Democratic Party.. has come true.. everything I was assured about on this very forum, when I voiced (wrote) about my concerns.. has turned into a lie.. lesson learned.. hopefully Senator Sanders can get his points that he wants to make across.. but I am having doubts now how this is going to turn out.. I hope I am wrong this time..
edit for spelling in title
Edit to add.. this is op is about the push to shut down the Democratic Convention.. I am opposed.. totally opposed to that .. nothing good comes from trying to destroy the party to make a point

(45,251 posts)That would be a rather ambitious goal. Even Chicago 1968 did not get shut down, despite all the police brutality.
Is that the stated goal or something you made up?

No one is being a sore loser. We're just trying to ensure the Third Way doesn't continue to screw us over.

(47,803 posts)Seems like a Pyrrhic victory to me....
I always knew Sanders has been a longshot to win. But the vituperativeness of the move to smash what he stands for. It's just yuch, yuch.
Whether ot not one prefers one candidate is beside the point. The phony memes, the supposed delicacy about normal political behavior, the pseudo-gentility, the assumed identification with insiders by people who are really outsiders to those who ARE inside....yuch, just yuch.

(11,366 posts)There will, however, be protests. I thought liberals liked that sort of thing. Or do they only like it when it's not being done to the right wing of the Democratic Party?

don't mistake any of this for sour grapes. Our elections have been fraudulent for quite some time. Now the democrats are exposed. It hurts no matter who does it, while it hurts more when candidates don't speak out against it. ENOUGH!

(15,512 posts)I still can't figure out why they allowed it. It's like an extra hoop just for Hillary: not only does she have to take out the GOP guy but she's got to deal with this loose cannon who despises Democrats and gets to say anything and write his own rules. It's a miracle she got through it but why why why.

Everything will be just fine for the coronation...
