2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumKentucky primary likely a big Hillary win.
Kentucky is a closed primary... meaning Independents cant vote in the Democratic primary.
Here are the rules:
Participation in Kentuckys delegate selection process is open to all voters who wish to participate as Democrats. Because Kentucky holds closed party primaries, voters must identify party preference at the time of registration (at least 29 days before the election) to be eligible to vote in the primary election.
Tuesday 17 May 2016: 55 of 60 delegates to the Democratic National Convention are allocated to presidential contenders based on the results of the voting in today's Kentucky Presidential Primary. A mandatory 15 percent threshold is required in order for a presidential contender to be allocated National Convention delegates at either the congressional district or statewide level.

Hillary usually wins big when just Democrats are the ones voting.

I don't think a closed primary should be any excuse at this point.
