Who will be heir to Bernie's surprising success?

Let's face it- Bernie will probably not get a shot at another run- who will he hand his mantle to? He needs a Justin Trudeau to carry on his crusade. If he doesn't all his work will most likely be for naught.

This time next year she'll be president.
Bernie will be a footnote.

Winner get's to set the goals.
Bernie lost.

There is nobody of that stature with the same world view. Nobody who is going to stand there and talk about why we need a political revolution to take control from the billionaire class. And also to challenge on foreign policy and empire the way he has.

Not in the Democratic Party. If you look in the smaller parties you'll find a bunch of people.

Sad but true.

Among the Democrats Elizabeth Warren in probably our best bet right now.

... from outside the party. I hope that more people register, join, participate, volunteer, run for office and get involved. (Oh... and vote too!)

Any other left populist unfortunate enough to attract the attention of the establishment is going to be in for a rough ride indeed.

Job zero in any potential Clinton administration will be making absolutely positively damn sure that nothing like Bernie ever scares the hell out of the establishment again.

It's not Sanders' movement, and there's nothing for him to "hand" anyone.

Pro-people and anti-corporate sentiment is growing around the world. We can pretend to be surprised at it only because our Establishment has been so entrenched and has kept us so ignorant.

Sanders is just the first politician to make the movement the basis for a presidential run.

A populist running on intergenerational conflict, vowing to fuck over baby boomers might make considerable traction.
