Eric Erickson: "the angry Republican electorate has made a terrible miscalculation."

No shit, Sherlock. These cons are pretty slow and dense, wouldn't you say?

“Republicans owe Bill Clinton an apology for impeaching him over lies and affairs while now embracing a pathological liar and womanizer,” Erickson wrote. “That apology will not be forthcoming. In fact, for years Republicans have accused the Democrats of gutter politics and shamelessness. Now the Republicans themselves have lost their sense of shame.”

Erickson, a ringleader of the now-unmoored #NeverTrump movement, closed the post by concluding the angry Republican electorate has made “a terrible miscalculation.”

the latter every time

the real question is why are WE settling for the former when we hold ourselves so ethical and rational, AND there's a far superior and winnable choice just waiting for us to take it?

That allowed the populist to rack up 'wins' in some early primaries with rather small pluralities.
Of course, there's also the situation the GOP created with their RW hate radio, Obama obstruction, rejection of education and science, and all...that created the atmosphere for a fascist to germinate and message resonate with low information conservative voters.

These men lost the financial stability that they expected to have for the remainder of their lives and they blame immigrants, AA and liberals; forgetting that the WH was in Republican hands when the economy collapsed.

Republicans did this to themselves. For decades the GOP has been running campaigns based on the concept that government is unimportant should be small enough to drown it in the bathtub. They've spent years telling their voters that government is bad, politicians are bad, national programs are bad, and promoting candidates who pledged not to engage in any governance while in office.

Republicans have finally got what they wanted, and they have no one to blame but themselves for foisting the Trumpenstein on America.

aimed to make Obama a one term president. What they didn't realize is that in taking aim at Obama, they were certain to be caught in the cross fire. The GOP did not want to do anything to improve the economy because they considered that to be a victory for Obama. Instead they were willing to sacrifice their constituents on the altar they had planned for Obama, and didn't care who got hurt in the process. The fact that these people once burned would now turn to the same party, this time under the leadership of a Con Man and a reality tv star says volumes. They deserve what they get. I have no sympathy for them. This country's demographics are changing. When you spit into the wind, sometimes it lands back on you.
