Latino Groups Celebrate Cinco De Mayo By Protesting Hillary

Democratic presidential front runner and America's tough-but-fair mother Hillary Clinton is in Los Angeles today, in advance of the June 7 California primary. It's no coincidence Clinton is courting the Latino vote on Cinco de Mayo, but many Latino-American political groups are not ready to bust out the margaritas just quite yet. Several groupsincluding MEXA de ELAC, Union del Barrio-LA, and the Los Angeles Brown Beretsare decidedly #notwithher and are calling for a protest of her rally at East Los Angeles College in Monterey Park at 3pm today, according to LA Weekly.
From her tenure as Secretary of State to her 8 years as FLOTUS, Clinton's relationship with Latinos and Latin Americans is complex, to say the least. As we draw nearer to what appears like an inevitable nomination, some members of the Democratic base are not taking it quietly and are using any opportunity to call out Clinton, who is already suffering from poor approval ratings.
Clinton is also attending a $2,700-a-pop fundraiser hosted by Councilman Jose Huizar, who is no stranger to controversy himself. If you don't like this alliance, you can always let his office know.
Cinco de Mayo is, after all, a day to remember and celebrate political rebellion, while also getting wasted.
