(58,785 posts)Not hardly! And you're making my point. Bernie is welcome to stay in the race (I've been authorized to speak for millions of Democrats), but he emphatically may not serve the GOP by weakening our putative presidental nominee for them.

(11,175 posts)"Hillary helped McCain" in the sense of implying an intention on her part would (presumably) not be accurate. In the course of the intra-party contest, however, Hillary not unnaturally went after Obama and McCain was able to make use of some of that later.

(45,319 posts)"I think you'll be able to imagine many things Senator McCain will be able to say. "He's never been the president, but he will put forth his lifetime of experience. I will put forth my lifetime of experience. Senator Obama will put forth a speech he made in 2002."
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/clinton-says-she-and-mccain-offer-experience-obama-offers-speeches/
So you were fine with that, but the rules for Bernie, they are different but it's not about bias or anything it's just that he is not allowed to do what other politicians are allowed to do. 'He may not' you say, defending a candidate who most certainly did.
Hypocrisy is a turn off. Double standards are the building blocks of bigotry.
timmymoff
(1,947 posts)now you want to call him that? that's the problem with Hillary supporters, like their candidate who is consistently on every side of every issue, they feel they can have everything both ways or more. Good luck in November, signed, Never Clinton

(8,352 posts)McCain against Obama!
McCain has years of experience, I have years of experience, and Senator Obama has a few speeches.
Their hypocrisy is stunning as usual, and self awareness is not strong with most of them.

(45,120 posts)is watching imagine2015 in another thread . I am assuming the Hillary supporters on MIRT are watching Bernie supporters and having their group members MIRT while not on MIRT. Since the poster up thread who first replied said imagine is not here for long has no star and is not on MIRT I gather that posters they don't like must be discussed on their other forum with the MIRT members there.

(58,785 posts)comment about authoritarians, and the silliness of hosing such an insult out inappropriately does not seem to fit your profile.
In any case, you might want to learn what authoritarians are. Of all the major personality groups identified, liberals are not only the least prone to authoritarianism but we are always societies' bulwark against it. I'm not excepting libertarians and anarchists since their potential destabilization of societies is far more likely to open the door to fascistic and authoritarian regimes than protect against.
This election could be framed too simplistically but not too unrealistically as the forces of liberalism against the forces of authoritarianism.
Here's a link to a very easy to read, and enjoyable, free download book on the subject. The author felt it was extremely important for people to understand so they could recognize and fight against. This author kicked off much subsequent research, which has confirmed, refined, and further developed the results of his initial studies, but never disproved them.

(2,054 posts)I hope Skinner permits you and other Hillaryites to post such comments.
I don't have a problem with that.
I lean toward free speech among progressive Democrats and Independents, not repression.
If you won't vote for Bernie and decide to sit on your hands that's your mistake. I can't force you to.
But speak out and say why after the convention.
I and other Bernie supporters on DU can handle that.
We're not afraid of criticism.

It's a shame others have to defend it.
It's like a party crashers who mooches off the food and entertainment and then complains about the host and guests!
They are nothing but disruptive and then in the end, one finds that they've also defiled the bathroom before leaving.
There are a shitload of complainers, about this site and its paying guests, on just this one OP alone.
===
It's like college loans, where everyone needs skin in the game--even the Millennials who inherit $17 Trillion in debt.
It's like state Democratic parties, barring people from participating unless you've registered months beforehand.
If you want to complain or instruct the site, the guests, the admins... pony up some cash and quit freeloading.
When are you going to start actually contributing to this site's existence?

(14,255 posts)Looks like, and I am not surprised, that Hillary, the DNC, her campaign, and her supporters really think of Bernie as some sort of "Hillary accessory" - he was supposed to give her a chance to pretend she was going anywhere within miles of the left, gush about her, and then hand over his supporters, money, and grassroots organization to her, it seems.
No, he and Hillary are too far apart on the issues. Light-years apart. Like someone here at DU said, Hillary and Trump - neither are "lesser evils", just different evils.

Either is calling her record into question. It's a legitimate concern and something which deserves scrutiny.
From DOMA to KXL to no universal health care to Hillary's holding $350k a plat fundraisers.
That isn't Republican outrage, it's human outrage.
