DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz remarked upon the irony of Bernie Sanders criticisms about a rigged superdelegate system.
Wasserman Schultz insisted that the voters will ultimately decide the nominee, the nominee has never been selected by superdelegates, and theres no way Donald Trump could beat Hillary Clinton.
Nicolle Wallace did ask her about the possibility of Trump beating Clinton and Sanders attacks on her being to blame. The DNC chair didnt want to entertain that notion.
When John Heilemann moved on to other Sanders critiques of the Democratic primary system, Wasserman Schultz remarked, Can I also just point out that there is some irony in criticizing a process that now he says he wants to use to become the partys nominee. Just saying.
Remember, Sanders has denounced the idea of superdelegates whilst making the case that, hey, superdelegates should be coming over to him and maybe helping pick him as the nominee.

(1,729 posts)... when it's Grijalva and others. This guy just wants to win however he has to. Hey, more power to him. He's hampering the ability of the presumptive nominee to build her war chest against Trump but I don't think she'll have all that much trouble and she pretty much knows it's going to be her anyway. She can afford to cast a dismissive glance at The Bern every once in awhile as she continues to hammer Trump.

Bernies is going to have the fewest pledged delegates and less total votes.
Why should the super delegates set that aside.
Just because the Bernie supporters really really want Bernie to win.
Bernie agreed to the rules when he decided to run as a Democrat.
Bernie seems to be just ranting now.

(18,115 posts)What scenario would they be used to usurp the vote results?
And of course he supers won't go to Bernie, unless something seismic happened.

The supers won't go to Bernie nor should they.
He's not going to have the most delegates nor the most votes.
I don't know why it's even being talked about except
that Bernie is losing and he's starting to rant.

of 300 deleagtes and 3 million votes
and the only other choice was an Indie

She's got this in the bag.
300 delegates 3 million vote lead.

(3,733 posts)No way the superdelegates flip and give Bernie
the nominatation over the legitimate winner who has
a 300 delegate lead and 3 million more votes.
No way they set aside the prefered candidate of the Democratic base
women older voters POC.
No way anybody but the most devoted Bernie supporter buys into the
argument that the candidate with the fewest delegates and votes
is the most electable.
Bernie seems to be flaming out.

But he's got a big ol' checkbook to help advance her vitally important legislative priorities--- like sticking sick people in prison for using medical marijuana, so I guess that's okay.
