Would Releasing Hillary's TRANSCRIPTS Damage, Prevent Or Improve Her Nomination?

Last edited Sat Apr 16, 2016, 09:27 PM - Edit history (1)

If Hillary released her Goldman Sachs speech TRANSCRIPTS, would the contents of her speech damage, prevent or improve her current nomination status?

- Improves or remains the same

- Damages credibility/trust but survives

- Obstructs/hinders nomination. Delegates shift

- Suspends campaign

2. It will damage it, soon as Heidi Cruz releases it.

It's incredible what a bomb has been placed under this campaign. Pretending that it's not all getting out soon as the nomination is locked up. These banks may be pro-Clinton but plenty of Republicans work at all of them. Heidi Cruz is a Goldman Sachs executive, by the way.

8. I think that if she is damaged by her transcript speech...

the super delegates will collectively assess how substantial her candidacy damage is, and with that assessment, they will shift their support over to Sanders and remove Hillary from the nomination equation.

10. This will almost certainly happen AFTER the convention.

No doubt dozens of people have had access to the transcripts - many speeches were delivered to various bankster and corporate audiences. Some of those people will be among those who want to bring her down and elect a Republican. They will wait until after the nomination is final and then release the transcripts.

5. I don't think it would change much in the primary

What it would do is give Republicans something to pick apart, take out of context and use in the general election. I think there's little chance that she said anything in a speech that would be particularly controversial but we know the GOP will take a word here and there until they make their own narrative. Democratic voters have already decided and that won't change.

6. Hillary has no good options on this

A campaign worth a damn would kill this issue by dumping out the transcripts instead of letting it fester, so it's reasonable to assume they think they can't. Two possibilities: (a) the speeches contain some incendiary comment like Romney's 47% gaffe, or (b) they're completely bland throwaway speeches that make it apparent the speech "fees" were just payouts.

I strongly suspect (b). And if that's the case, they could have just dumped the speeches on day one, taken a little heat, and it would be as forgotten as the push polling in Nevada by now. But the curiosity has heaped up and made a monster of it.

More lousy campaigning. This will be an issue as long as she is running.

7. I passed. I think it depends on what is in the transcript... I think Clinton's fear of looking weak

for caving on the point isn't a problem at all. Indeed I think if she could look more like a Clinton decision isn't as stuck in place as a Custer decision it would help her look human and reasonable.

9. The transcripts are a subterfuge.

Have you seen her smirk when someone asks about them?

She is using them to chum. (Attract attention.)

The real corruption lies in the Foundation's money laundering and in the server.

Let's focus our attention THERE.

And if you need a tutorial on the server, go to our work group here on DU that has been compiling a timeline and information.

back in 2014, her attitude was boldly different (as a lot of newspaper headers indicate) and Hillary was charging up the Goldman Sachs crowd with a lot of 'Obama/Warren' red-meat criticisms on economic and foreign policy issues.

If Hillary loses even a small % of her current AA support, her goose will be cooked. If the transcripts show a lot of Obama bashing, AA support will dissolve overnight and the nomination will be lost.

..then why didn't she offer to show the superdelgates in a private viewing, the contents of her transcripts?

and with that, they determine what could possibly be her reasoning or motives for not releasing the transcripts......
