I finally understand the Clinton Campaign rules! (the smearing of Jane Sanders)

Posted with the permission of my Facebook friend Bob Lamb.

1. If you criticize Hillary for taking tens of millions of dollars from Wall Street, big pharmaceutical companies, fossil fuel corporations, private prison lobbies, and even the NRA, you are a Bernie Bro and a sexist.

2. If you point out any of Hillary's blatant lies and support it with videos (e.g., Bernie didn't support her on national health care in 1993, Bernie's responsible for Sandy Hook, she came under sniper fire in Bosnia, she tried to enlist in the Marines, she was named after Sir Edmund Hillary, she was against NAFTA from the start, guns are pouring into New York from across the Vermont border--I could go on forever), you are a Bernie Bro and a sexist.

3. If you disagree with Hillary on her support for fracking or the Keystone Pipeline or the TPP, you are a Bernie Bro and a sexist. (P.S. Susan Sarandon, you are a sexist.)

4. If you support campaign finance reform, access to higher education, and the decriminalization of America, and you are against the death penalty, you are a Bernie Bro and a sexist. (P.S. Rosario Dawson, you are a sexist.)

5. If you say anything about how Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the DNC has rigged the process from the start, if you oppose needless intervention in the Middle East, and if you care about our veterans, you are a Bernie Bro and a sexist. (P.S. Tulsi Gabbard, you are a sexist.)

6. If you consider global warming and the destruction of an inhabitable planet the most important issue facing us, you are a Bernie Bro and a sexist. (P.S. Naomi Klein, you are a sexist.)

7. If you believe that the policies of the Clinton Administration have badly hurt African Americans and Latino/Latina Americans, you are a Bernie Bro and a sexist. (P.S. Michelle Alexander, you are a sexist.)

8. But if you make disgusting, vicious, misogynist attacks on Jane Sanders--ridiculing her looks, her body, her clothes, her hair--well hell, that's just good old-fashioned politics.

I agree but he said it so much better than I ever could!

Thanks Bob

But please don't do th same back to Hillary. She gives us more than enough to work with just based on her horrible history and her own words.

Hillary2016 - Jane Sanders need to shut her fat ugly face! #feelthebern are losers and poor bums with no success in life listening to a submissive woman!

@2016HillaryGo Oh so its not in any way derogatory to call her "fat" and "ugly" and tell her to "shut up" Ones behavior reflects ones truths

@Old_Hag_Art Jane is #notqualified to be 1st lady!! And it's true that she's fat and ugly fucking look at that hag!

or was it trolls on twitter.

There is an obnoxious Bernie supporter that posts ridiculous Facebook memes 6 times a day I know from High School. I don't think he is doing it on behalf of the Bernie Sanders campaign.

But I'm also an occasional Twitter user and I saw far too many comments similar to what was mentioned above. Nasty stuff.

1) Sexism. This was the biggest one we were supposed to push. We had to smear Bernie as misogynistic and out-of-touch with modern sensibilities. He was to be characterized as “an old white male relic...”. Anyone who tried to object to this characterization would be repeatedly slammed as sexist until they went away or people lost interest.

2) Racism. We were instructed to hammer home how Bernie supporters were all privileged white students that had no idea how the world worked. We had to tout Hillary’s great record with “the blacks” (yes, that’s the actual way it was phrased), and generally use racial identity politics to attack Sanders and bolster Hillary as the only unifying figure.

3) Electability. All of those posts about how Sanders can never win and Hillary is inevitable? Some of those were us, done deliberately in an attempt to demoralize Bernie supporters and convince them to stop campaigning for him. The problem is that this was an outright fabrication and not an accurate assessment of the current political situation. But the truth didn’t matter – we were trying to create a new truth, not to spread the existing truth.

4) Dirty tactics. This is where things got really bad. We were instructed to create narratives of Clinton supporters as being victimized by Sanders supporters, even if they were entirely fabricated. There were different instructions about how to do it, but something like this (http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/10/31/1443064/-Dis-heartened-Hillary-Supporter) is a perfect example. These kind of posts are manufactured to divide and demoralize Sanders supporters, and are entirely artificial in nature.

Are definitely here and are equally disgusting. It is not Sanders' supporters holding those views! I'm sure there are several folks that saved the links.

It should be of no surprise that these pov show up on FB, Twitter, messageboards.

Clinton would never be seen dirtying her hands but gotta wonder, so called Bernie Bros were told to calm it down by the Sanders campaign. It did not matter whether these people were actual Sanders supporters or trolls. Yet we have silence so far from Camp Clinton (some HRC supporters...think DU) about this even though it's been going on for quite some time.

It is what it is.
