If Hillary is aspiring to be president she must not be frightened of 'tone'

Presidents are supposed to be tough and deal with the world's leaders - some of them have 'tone and are really nasty. She will have to prove to us that she can deal with these ogres. Why would she complain about a debate with her gentlemanly opponent Senator Sanders.

...his intention is to have a debate, preferably in New York.

How fucking hard is that to figure out? The letter they wrote was pretty damned clear.

Now you may not agree they should debate in New York, but she did agree to a debate in April, and it would certainly be more respectful to the voters -- more democratic in fact -- to hold the promised debate before the New York primary rather than after.

At the moment her campaign seems to be floating trial balloons to see if they can get away with reneging on their agreement.

That Sanders is running a negative campaign so that is now the reason she will not debate. That poster is just parroting it because he can not think for himself and figure out that discussing voting and actions of a person in office is not a negative. But with Hillary talking about her actions in office are negative because they are crappy and hurt people all over the world.

He's seeking another chance so voters can make a choice. If his intentions are to shed some light on Hillary's Wall Street speeches and being part of pay to play, then that's a good thing. The more truth, the more it hurts Hillary. She scared of Bernie and the truth.

given the fact that she is pretty far ahead in delegates, votes, and in the polls.

But apart from that, even if she feared that she would lose, why would refusing to debate help her? She's pretty good at debating.

If anything, her stance here is based on the fact that she is the prohibitive frontrunner and most likely nominee, and that she refuses to give free air time to her losing rival, at least as long as he does not stop running a negative campaign against her.

You liken Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, Rand Paul, David Vitter, and Lindsey Graham to a KGB Officer who used to pull people's fingernails out with pliers?

Um, you're kidding, right?

"Putin acknowledges that the KGB evaluated him as a man with stunted emotions. His instructors concluded he was at risk, not of succumbing to the temptations of women or drink, but because of his pervasive “lowered sense of danger”. He was also classified as a man unhelpfully unsocial. To this day, he still only grudgingly half admits the agency’s character assessment. “I don’t think that I had a lowered sense of danger, but the psychologists came to this conclusion having followed my behaviour for a long time,” he told journalists back in 2000. This, I fear, is what makes him so ruthless."

This man has no fear. Does not know it. Is so immune to it that Russian psychologists thought it put him at risk. Well, he's no longer at risk; he's in power.

suspend the campaigns while dealing with the economic collapse. Obama said basically, " No we will sometimes have to deal with two issues at once being president." Hillary seems weak having her campaign call for a change of tone. If she had any courage she would ask them to "cut it out" like she did when she saved us all from economic collapse with her great leadership.

As a woman I find it deeply disturbing that a woman of her privilege and standing would act so weak so often. And really, for no reason. She's not weak, so why does she play victim so much? It's not like a lot of people have compassion for her, so it doesn't play well.

Bernie agreed to a debate before NH-when the Clinton campaign needed/wanted it. On the condition that they agree to 3 more- one each in March, April, and May.

If she tries to weasel out cause it no longer seems to be in her best interest it shows her word means nothing. It reinforces many of the negative impressions people have about her and her lack of trustworthiness. She has more to lose by not debating than by sucking it up and honoring her commitments.
