(21,210 posts)from the needs of the majority of people? The middle class has been shrinking after the short lived boom of Bill in the 90's while hundreds of millions were borrowed from the SS Trust fund to present a false narrative that the budget was balancing.
So is she raising money for the wealthy corporate Dems while the middle class continues to shrink? You think that is a good thing?
A letter means nothing to me, results are what matters, the middle class has continued to shrink under a "D"

(21,210 posts)we hardly ever to get to vote in primaries (when it matters) candidates never visit. Other countries just laugh at us as our process lasts years, compared to months, and is so inequitable.
Hoping!

I am waiting for Hillary to mimic the current season of House of Cards where Bill is the VP, that is way too bold though

(21,210 posts)something to fall back on. Now that can be a wonderful thing, it allows a person to venture out, experiment and fail, experiment again... until they get it right, or somewhat right.
Most of us do not have the luxury of 'getting it wrong' even once, never mind time and time again.

(751 posts)I'm assuming most have truely progressive positions and would have said a year ago that Bernie is a champion of their views.
Now here they are defending Hillary fund raising from corporate America. I was huge Obama supporter and I gotta be honest that I overlooked the fact he raised more money from big money interests than Clinton. I gotta say they ignorance is one thing, I don't think I would be defending or worse condoning this behavior.
I respect much more those that know what is up and are not being taking for ride that Clinton will do what her donors what them to do. Maybe some of the benefits will trickle down to us common folk.

(751 posts)Unless you are part of Hillary's donor class, you are winning nothing.
This reminds of sports fans who consider themselves part of the "team" and use terminology like "we". Not the best comparison because these fans are not deluded enough to think they are getting anything beyond entertainment for few hours.

(21,210 posts)you do realize the implications of country without a thriving MC.
The Dems are not winning, we have given up so many seats in the US Congress and control in many states. That is not winning IMHO.

(21,210 posts)funny to watch people here on DU abandon their beliefs so suddenly to align with a party that leans more towards the Repubs while trying to maintain a semblance of the old Democratic values.
Nothing will trickle down

I must say that I am very pleased to see so many long time DU members come out on the right side to support real change, we are drawing lines that were once blurred.

(21,210 posts)think the only solution is to sink even lower while they control the strings.
Can we just think outside the box for a few minutes? That is what that Sanders campaign is about, it is for those people who are tired of sinking lower and lower all while we watch the middle class in our country be destroyed. What happens to our country without a flourishing MC, probably not anything good.
Not to mention displacing/killing/maiming millions of people throughout the world and then we are surprised when THEY, how dare they, fight against our interference in their elections when we only want to bring 'our version of democracy' to their country. We need to stop meddling where we do not belong.

(49,152 posts)It takes tons of money to do that.
Back to square one.
slipslidingaway
(21,210 posts)so I will disagree, you seem to imply that we need to go back to square one and support the establishment candidate.
Tons of money can be raised from people, not corporations, you just need the backbone to step outside of the comfort zone.

It was everywhere. Ignorance is sometimes willful. I feel sorry for people who can't face the truth and make excuses by claiming ignorance.

(21,210 posts)we know too many people who do not trust her and would never vote for her, mix of Repubs and independents, but they would vote for Sanders.
I have said this since the summer when the DNC limited debates, this is our election to lose, so while the party backs an establishment candidate they also have not realized the discontent of many citizens in our country. In the GE we need independents and crossover Repubs who voted for Obama. They will not vote for Clinton.
We'll see, it is a big gamble.

(14,893 posts)she will be speaking at a GOTV event at Carl Hayden High School in Phoenix and at a CNN "Final Five" candidates forum. Tomorrow she will be speaking at two different "Get out the caucus" events, one in Seattle and the other in Everett, WA. This is at least the third time overvthe past few weeks I have responded to this type of thread, which seem designed to do nothing but gin up baseless trashing of the "I don't happen to know where she is so she must be busy servicing her corporate overlords" variety.

(21,210 posts)I did not see her holding any events with the 99% in the past 5 days, please elaborate. Even Maddow said she was attending fund raising events.
What rallies has she held on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
I am sure it will take two minutes to find the answers, awaiting your reply.
