2016 Postmortem

So anyone who is saying that this primary race is over and Sanders needs to drop out are not only wrong, they are implying that the voters in the later primary states don't deserve to have a fair primary contest.

(68,868 posts)but he has zero shot at winning the delegate race.
well, maybe .001% of a shot.
He needs to win 55-60% in closed primaries in New York and Pennsylvania and New Jersey. That is just not happening.

(24,689 posts)Bernie would have to repeat what Hillary has done during that past several weeks. In other words he will need a bunch of blowouts in big states to match her blowouts in big states. There is simply no indication he can do that. He needs about 10 blowouts in large delegate states to catch up. I just dont see it.

(12,655 posts)and he doesnt get the wins to catch up. what is the harm? he has his own campaign money to spend, he has a national audience for his message, and he is bringing in new voters who are finally excited about politics.
if you truly believe he is no threat to your candidate, then what is the harm of him staying in until either the convention or until he runs out of money, (which will not be before the convention anyway)?
DCBob
(24,689 posts)He has a good message and we need his people. I hope though he begins to focus his ire more on the GOP rather than Hillary and Democrats.

(12,655 posts)time to go bernie...of that variety.
i believe that a truly strong candidate can get through a long primary and be in good shape for a ge.
he has always had his biggest success when he stays on message....income inequlity, heath care, etc. i think he will continue to do that.
