2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumCan someone explain why CA, NY, PA, & NJ vote so late in the primary season
NY - 4/19
PA - 4/26
WI - 4/5
CA, NJ, - 6/7
Aren't these states at least as important as Nevada, SC, and Kansas? Why does the south and midwest get to decide who the nominee is.

(6,002 posts)so what else is new? Which is why I keep telling people, don't lose hope, this schedule was primed for Hillary to come out gangbusters, Bernie did not suffer huge losses which speaks loudly & clearly, and NOW things are about to take a turn for the better for Bernie.

(9,888 posts)I've been a voter in PA since 1976. I've never voted in a primary that meant anything. It's always decided long before PA votes. It has nothing to do with Hillary.

(1,630 posts)want to be represented in the primary selection. If the huge states went first, the primary would be over long before the little states had a chance to vote. In the primary of 2008, the race was extremely close. Hillary actually won the popular vote but not the delegates.

It is prohibitively expensive.
