Bernie wins Democrats abroad primary 70% to 30% (bigger margin than Obama in '08)

Democrats abroad are “FeelingTheBern” strongly (nearly) everywhere: Bernie Sanders has won an overwhelming victory in the Democrats abroad primaries conducted in the week from March 1 to March 8.

While it will take another week (March 21st) until official results will be released, it seems that Bernie has won an astonishing 70 percent of Democrats’ abroad votes, winning the primaries in every country (with the lone exception of Singapore), exceeding Obama’s 2008 — then big — margin of victory by another 8 points.

Therefore It seems highly likely that Bernie Sanders will win 9 out of 13 pledged delegates, ensuring a 9 to 4 delegate split over Mrs. Clinton, thereby closing the overall delegate gap by 5 delegates.

That sure looks like an augury for Ohio and Illinois, at the least, where the pollster who predicted Michigan shows an extremely tight race--easily tippable by Bernie supporters' enthusiasm and great ground game.

6. My guess is that people who have lived abroad like myself

have a better idea what our country could be than what it currently is. I live in a democratic socialist country (Germany) and know that we can do better for our country, like:
- free college education
- great single payer health care
- strong workers rights through unions
- 6 weeks vacation
- no police abuse or fear of guns
- a strong regulated economy that works for all


My life quality here is far superior in Germany than when I lived in the U.S. for the first 30 years of my life.

Bernie has a far better vision for the U.S. than Hillary. People voting for Hillary are settling for crumbs where in could have so much more. My experience living in Germany has allowed me to see it first hand.

12. HRC's experience abroad has been dashing from country to country.

One of her big goals was to be able to say she'd visited more foreign countries than any previous Secretary of State. I read of times she'd have her private jet land in some small country's airport for a couple of hours. Some local politicians would be driven to the airport for a meet and greet and then off she went into the wild blue yonder. She had a bucket list of countries and would jam them together in her trips. Despite all the telecommuting options open to her, she spent one of her four years as SOS, in the air - traveling. Here's a shocker! Flying is an activity, not an accomplishment.

One of the elements of having class is appreciating the difference between quantity (number of countries visited) and quality (oh, I don't know. Negotiating treaties? I don't consider pushing corporate fracking interests in multiple countries a quality activity for a US SOS). That has always seemed to escape the Clintons. They are hell bent on building up their personal net worth. Her net worth is estimated at $31 million; Bill's at $80 million. What is up with Hillary Clinton’s compulsive lining of her own pockets? It turns out she has her campaign paying her $250,000 a year. It’s not illegal — but most would-be presidents aren’t so venal.

Whence their hell bent compulsion to keep accumulating more? In addition to their personal wealth, the Clinton Foundation — which the family controls, employs their key staff between campaigns and covers the cost of their private-jet trips and other extravagances. What can they possibly spend it on? They have no personal passions - not art collectors or patrons of the arts; they don't have an ocean-going yacht for long trips; they don't maintain pied-a-terres in cultural capitols of the world, or even New York City.

They are reporting polling station numbers
Polling station numbers are likely not the majority of voters
Most people vote by fax, e-mail or postal
This is because many countries do not have a voting station and many only have one or two

Sanders likely won big and that's good, especially since I voted for him in it (by e-mail)

"I’m fully aware that this is not a final count because a lot of ballots are still in the mail. But in 2008 the ballots via mail did not change the outcome significantly, therefore I expect the final results to remain in the range of 70% for Bernie, maybe with a variation of +/- 2 or 3 % at most."
