(23,664 posts)I guess its time for me to back away from this 'puter for a few hours. I'm in bad shape if I can't recognize .
In my defense I've been sitting here the whole time my wife has been over at the neighbors watching the fricking Oscars.
I'll try to mend things with him tomorrow.
Thanks for the wake up call.

(1,342 posts)Shawshank Redemption (and other movies). I do not agree with his choice to support Hillary, but it is his choice.
The Velveteen Ocelot
(115,836 posts)I like Morgan Freeman. He's a fine actor. But celebrity endorsements don't affect my opinion in the least, regardless of who does them. Including Morgan Freeman.

The Velveteen Ocelot
(115,836 posts)But the fact that a good actor who starred in a good movie has endorsed a particular candidate is not sufficient to make me vote for that candidate. You do know, don't you, that Morgan Freeman was playing a fictional character? That he was not actually that character? Did you know that he played a pimp in another movie, Street Smart? Here's another example: Mel Gibson, who is as mad as a box of frogs and holds extremely retrograde views, is also a fine actor (or was, until he kind of went nuts). He was in a couple of my favorite movies, The Year of Living Dangerously and Gallipoli. I can assure you that his endorsement of a candidate would not change my mind, either.

(221 posts)Here is the right answer:

(221 posts)"violent"???? It was a love story.
The Velveteen Ocelot
(115,836 posts)Wallace's wife is publicly executed by having her throat cut; the carnage at the battle of Stirling Bridge; where he sacks the city of York, killing the King's nephew and sending him his decapitated head; the violent battle at Falkirk; and where at the end, Wallace is finally hanged, drawn and quartered, and decapitated? It was one of the most violent movies I've ever seen.

(221 posts)Like I said it was a love story.

and he would have gotten the one way street right too if you had just updated the program.

(1,252 posts)his choice is not. He is wise so he must know she has a problem with the truth. How he can support her I cannot understand. I thought he was smarter than that.
I still love him as one of the most beloved actors in history.

(45,850 posts)I don't know anything about him as a private person, other than he goes to the Caribbean a lot. And now this.
Ah well. He doesn't have time obviously to look beyond the mirage put in place by our msm & he's probably had dinner a few times with the Clintons & they've charmed him...
He's probably my favorite actor though, so I can't say its not a disappointment.

(221 posts)FACTS:
1. W made it so that white men can no longer be president.
2. It is critical that we get a D president picking the Supreme Court nominees.
3. The most important issue for Bernie supporters is whether they should have sex on the first date or not.

(14,587 posts)Just listening to the guy, you think, "Wish he was my dad!"
HOWEVER, while I loved my own father very much, I often disagreed with him. I'm gonna have to disagree with Freeman on this one, too. Great guy, not so great judgment in who he endorses.
