(11,619 posts)But I could never say it wasn't our choice, and I can live with that.

(67,782 posts)And Clinton will cruise through the General Election in CT. Not much Presidential campaigning here.
But I keep busy - I've worked on every local, district and even a couple of state election here since 2003, and have run for local office six times (4 wins, 2 losses), and have been a delegate to the State Convention the last 5 times (over 10 years)
BainsBane
(53,127 posts)But you can make calls to voters out of state. I'm making calls from home today because the campaign office is so noisy with so many volunteers. If you contact the Clinton campaign office in your state, they can set you up. They would likely have you call to a nearby state.
George II
(67,782 posts)...for Dan Malloy in his initial campaign - made something like 5,000 calls. I hated every one, but I'd been in CT for 20 years and never had a Democratic Governor, it was worth the angst.
It all paid off when I was able to attend my first (and only) Inauguration Ball!
But you're right, when we get to the General Election I'll probably do something.
PS - you shamed me, I'll volunteer to make some calls, and changed my vote.

(53,127 posts)I feel your pain about phone calls. I much prefer door knocking. But they've got a computerized system that they say is more efficient than going door to door. Not my idea of a good time, but it needs doing.

(53,127 posts)He had a number of good proposals. I especially liked his idea of asking citizens to participate in national service in exchange for the federal government funding their higher education.

(53,127 posts)Does the substantially greater volunteer rate indicated in this poll help explain why Hillary is outperforming Sanders (as well as dispel claims of an enthusiasm gap), are Bernie supporters purposefully avoiding this poll, or both?
Yes, I know it's not scientific. Just wondering though.

(53,127 posts)Yet we have five times as many Clinton volunteers as Bernie volunteers responding in this poll.
Is it possible that Clinton isn't the one suffering from an enthusiasm gap?

(33 posts)made my first call today, and am going to start making more tomorrow -- I'm nervous, though, but I am sure I will get used to it.
Also, on a college budget, but making small donations once a week

(3,580 posts)For Obama. I live in a rural, southern county (I know, my vote is useless to some) and we didn't have a dem headquarters for this county but we started inviting neighbors over for coffee and arranging rides.
Tue is my primary. I've got a few trips arranged to take people to vote before I go to work. I'll take Bernie voters even, I figure when the GE rolls around and I take them to vote, they can vote for Hillary then.

(53,127 posts)They have to banish it from their sight? That's a sad commentary.
They don't have any problem seeing my posts when it's something they want to argue against. Perhaps the silence has something to do with what someone said in another thread: phone calls and door knocking, they insisted, is just too old school; they use Twitter. Not sure how you inform people of their polling and caucus sites over Twitter considering you don't know their addresses, but to each their own.
