(11,649 posts)is the nominee. we cannot have 4 or 8 more years of a republican president especially with the clowns who are running.
in '04 bush won because a lot of people didn't like kerry -- i'm talking about dems and independents. my late husband was one of them.

(20,998 posts)...will have my unwavering and unending support. BOTH Secretary Clinton and Senator Sanders are head and shoulders above ANYONE the GOP will field. Anyone.
I would prefer the nominee be Senator Sanders. HOWEVER, I absolutely refuse to live with another GOP hack for POTUS. If Secretary Clinton is the nominee, I will support her candidacy through thick-and-thin!

(454 posts)Only the impending Trumpocolypse could make her relatively Right-Wing positions palatable.
I may vote for her, but I would need some reason to believe a Clinton White House would be substantively different than a Cruz or Rubio White House.

(454 posts)May have some benefit, in not being Cruz or Rubio, but I don't know for sure I won't have the same things happen. Hillary Clinton may easily "compromise," any values away.
She has said no to even the basics of a Progressive political policy package.

The primary is about deciding who the majority think is the best candidate.
The general is choosing the best government from the choices we are given.

So I guess I can assume that a Republican president is what you are willing to settle for?

It's not your "principles" that bugs the shit out of me - it's your obvious lack thereof.

(21 posts)By not voting, you might as well vote for whoever the crazies on the Republican Party nominate.
Republicans THRIVE when there's a significant amount of voter apathy.
It's easy to throw a temper tantrum if your dream candidate isn't nominated when you're not one of the groups of people on the Republicans chopping block.

(42,862 posts)If by some miracle Bernie happened to become the nominee, I'd vote for him for the same reason. Contrary to the examples viewed here and elsewhere, it actually IS possible to love one candidate without hating the other.
