Early birds camp out at Kent State for good seats to see President Obama

“We got here about 11 p.m. last night — there are about six of us,” said BreJanee Ball of Canton. “We thought, the earlier the better because the seating wasn’t guaranteed. We wanted to make sure we got good seats.”
Obama is scheduled to speak at the MAC Center at 5:30 p.m. About 6,000 free tickets were handed out to the event on Tuesday.
Rachel Snyder, of Erie, described the conditions for those who did not have tents.
“I got out here and got soaking wet in the freaking cold and rain,” she said.
Medina residents Rachael Todd and Erica Batyko camped out in chairs under an umbrella.
“We’re kind of hoping that since we’re in the front that we can shake his hand,” said Todd. “Plus we want to be in the front row.
“Even in the lightning and the rain it was a lot of fun,” she added.
