(45,558 posts)Oh, somewhere in this favoured land the sun is shining bright,
The band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light;
And somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout,
But there is no joy in Freeperville - mighty Romney has struck out.

(14,595 posts)The group behind Romney was another one of those groups of blue collar employees who wanted NOTHING to do with being there but were told to by their employer. You can just see it. There were maybe a handful of the 18 or so that you could tell were supporters, but some of them went the whole time without clapping and just had glares in their eyes.
I don't know if the people involved with the campaign, or the employers, get how really sad it is to force employees who hate the man or maybe don't want any part of it at all, to have to be the human backdrop for a political speech.

(9,581 posts)Yeah, that sucks when employers feel compelled to force their employees to "support" political candidates. Oughta be a law ...

Seriously, what does he expect? In the September PEW Poll 52% of the those who identified as Romney voters said it was a vote against Obama rather than a vote for Romney. Also when asked if they thought Romney was going to win, 22% said no.
