ADEL, Iowa - Hillary Clinton called on Bernie Sanders to join a proposed Democratic debate next week in New Hampshire, telling MSNBC's Chris Matthews that she is "anxious" to make the debate happen.

"I'm ready for the debate, and I hope Sen. Sanders will change his mind and join us," she said in the interview, which will air on "Hardball" Wednesday night. "I think the DNC and the campaigns should be able to work this out. I've been for, you know, for a long time, that I'd be happy to have more debates, and I hope we can get this done."

Asked if she wanted the Democratic National Committee to sanction the debate, Clinton replied, "I would like the chairman of the parties and the campaigns to agree we can debate in New Hampshire next week."

Clinton and Martin O'Malley, the third candidate in the race, quickly said they would be open to joining, but Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver said his candidate was not interested in an unsanctioned debate.

Yea, NOW you want a debate!

I've been for, you know, for a long time, that I'd be happy to have more debates, and I hope we can get this done."

SURE you have. Then why didn't you ask for, PUSH for more debates? Mrs. Clinton, there is no other way I can say this. You are lying

Asked if she wanted the Democratic National Committee to sanction the debate, Clinton replied, "I would like the chairman of the parties and the campaigns to agree we can debate in New Hampshire next week."

This woman can not answer a simple fucking question.. Some questions are complicated and require a detailed answer. NOT this one. . Yes, or No, ma'am?

Somehow, she reminds me of Slick Willy.

Week after week of intellectual dishonesty. THIS is why her negatives are through the floor. Part of her ongoing campaign strategy should be to stop lying. It matters.

the debate and Bernie doesn't ..... hmm. She wasn't for any more debates a couple of months ago.

It could be a watershed year if we can take any Congressional seats, too.

That's what being a Democrat is all about. And if Donald Trump takes office next January it won't be our fault.

Bernie wants to reinvent the wheel which tells me that he hasn't been paying attention and in all likelihood will screw up eight years of progress made under Barack. That's a depressing prospect.

Bernie would do it if the DNC approves but he doesn't want to be left in the lurch if he attends it unsantioned and the DNC blacklists him from further debates. Nice try though.

who was happy with the debate schedule until her poll numbers dropped. Now she demands we have one next week, right after the spur of the moment town hall (that she did poorly in).

^snip^

Hillary Clinton was pressed in an interview late Monday about the scheduling of Democratic presidential debates this cycle, which has been roundly criticized by her Democratic rivals.

MSNBC's Rachel Maddow asked Clinton during her show Monday night if her campaign advocated for "a light schedule" putting debates "in TV Siberia — on weekends and holidays."
"Well, Rachel, I really don't have any knowledge of that," Clinton responded in the phone interview.

"I’m not saying that nobody representing me or the other campaigns didn't express an opinion," Clinton said. "But it was my understanding that in looking at the sequencing of these debates, looking at the numbers of people who watched back in '08, there was a decision to try to have a monthly debate once people were beginning to pay attention and try to drive more viewership."

Clinton's rivals, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley, have both criticized Democratic officials for the scheduling of the debates on weekends or before holidays.
