Well, it's been 7 years

I am doing all I can to be here for our grandkids' h.s graduations, still in the future. I don't feel upbeat and I feel like throwing things. But I won't. Just keep going, one foot in front of another and try not to wonder too much.
Thank you, DU friends. I appreciate the support. I am going to go walk the dogs and pick up the kids from school. Affirmation.

Cancer. I'm not lonely, but even after all this time, I miss him like crazy.

I thought the day was the 27th, but our kids starting sending pictures of their Dad this morning, so I had to check. I think I get the date wrong on purpose. I've spent the last couple hours sending pictures back to them. I love the memories, in small doses.

Thank you Niyad

I'm on year 5 of losing my 27+ year spouse. I was hoping that in 2 more years it would be much better.

I am better than I was at the 2 year mark. Now, it's just a constant ache and not as disabling as it was that first year. I feel like I've crawled out of a hole in the ground and am trying to not slip back in.

It sounds like you are off the center and heading toward something different. It is different for everyone. I stay busy and that helps so much.
