(Jewish Group) Jewish Michigan lawmaker says threats are constant

A Michigan lawmaker who is Jewish said Friday that she and two other legislators were contacted by the FBI about an armed man who was charged with making death threats on Twitter against Jewish state officials.

The FBI hasn't publicly identified the officials. But state Rep. Samantha Steckloff, a Democrat from suburban Detroit, said she was contacted when agents arrested Jack Carpenter III last week.

“They just said there were credible threats against myself and the other Jewish legislators and they were getting ready to arrest” Carpenter, Steckloff told The Associated Press.

Carpenter, who remains in custody, was due in federal court Friday for a bond hearing. Prosecutors want to keep him locked up while his case is pending.

Talking about Purim and antisemitism, and he mentioned the arrest of an armed man who planned to kill a large number of Jewish lawmakers this week, and how this arrest and story has been underreported. Many hadn't heard about it.

In keeping with the rabbi's comment, I find it interesting and disturbing that the title of the article you posted seems to minimize the actual event, saying threats are constant almost normalizes this. But even if threats are constant, actions are not as constant and foiling a plan to target and murder Jews should get more press.

Here's another article about it, from the Jerusalem post, a Jewish news source.

Their headline:
Feds arrest Michigan man who plotted to kill Jewish elected officials

There are a lot more guys like this, out in the world. Social media has helped connect them, but also helps to arrest and indict them.

On Purim we celebrate the fact that we survived a mass attempt to exterminate us
We have more reasons for concern these day, but I plan to celebrate on Purim.

They ONLY time they care is when we are DEAD.

If you have not read it, I suggest you read "People Love Dead Jews" by Dara Horn.

We are the "wrong" type of minority.
