"Your Life After Their Death" and 10 common signs a loved one is communicating with you

ran across this website, and this new book.
i haven't read it yet but i plan to

snip:
“Your Life After Their Death is truly an inspirational book that offers comfort and peace to those who were left behind by their loved ones. It also offers practical exercises that will assist you in your journey back to a life filled with hope.”
— Anita Moorjani, author of Dying to Be Me
In Your Life After Their Death, psychic medium Karen Noé shows you how to move on and enjoy life again after you’ve lost a loved one. As she often states, “Your deceased loved ones are okay and want you to be okay, too!”

snip:
"She also shows you how to maintain your connection with your loved ones—and even your pets!—who have passed away. You’ll learn how to communicate with them and recognize “without a doubt” signs from them, as well as how to connect with a reputable psychic medium. "
http://www.throughtheeyesofanother.com/booksummary

the ten common signs pertain to:
animals, objects, smells, music, dreams, numbers, sense of peace, thoughts, electricity, and ??? ear buzzing?
http://www.throughtheeyesofanother.com/articles/the-ten-most-common-signs-deceased-loved-ones-give-to-let-us-know-they-are-around.php

since my mom died i've experienced a tremendous amount of signs from the objects, smells, numbers, sense of peace, thoughts, electricity categories; quite a few animal signs, a lot of word signs (not on list--such as asking for a sign & getting it in the form of license plates), actually hearing her say my name one time. i'd have to think about the ear buzzing thing. i never made a connection with that.

anyway, the book sounds interesting. just an fyi

On the first link, Anita Moorjani, author of Dying to be Me, is quoted. She was interviewed on Coast to Coast recently. What a remarkable, interesting story she has. Those of us who are interested in intercultural issues will find her story of noteworthy.

On the second link, I, too, have experienced most of the things on the list--but not the buzzing.

Thanks for the book tip, orleans.

I took your idea and checked my library--they have two copies available, so I'll stop and pick it up in the next couple days.

Let's compare notes!

i picked it up from my library the other day and just started it yesterday. i skipped over part one and started in on part two. it's pretty cool, what happened to her. she says she finds it hard to describe and i'll bet she does. i would too.

so i'm still in part two. (on edit: i'm referring to the book dying to be me)

also, today i checked out another book: talking to the dead by george noory & rosemary ellen guiley. i'm gonna look through that later this afternoon.

5. My Mom Spoke to Me from Beyond the Grave through My Dying Car!
Fri Nov 14, 2014, 02:34 PM
Nov 2014

A really weird thing happened to me. I was driving home from an astrological meeting one night when my car blew a head gasket, and died. I was all distraught at the time, and in panic mode about what to do, but later on I noticed that it was about 9:30 PM in Albuquerque New Mexico, on December 1, 2010 - and my Mom died at 8:30 PM on December 1, 2007 - it was even exactly the same time that my Mom died, allowing for time zone differences, since New Mexico is in Mountain time, which is one hour ahead of Pacific time in California. I talked about the incident with a spiritual mentor of mine, and he said, "It's like your Mom was trying to reach you from beyond the grave!" But what was she trying to say? I think that she was trying to say that I should have just let my old car die, just as she died, and that I shouldn't have let those crooks of mechanics fix it, since I paid an arm and a leg for the motor repair but it only lasted for a couple of months or so before the car had its final big blowout in the White Mountains of Arizona, on a move back to California. I had it towed in to the Toyota dealers in Show Low, and they confirmed they don't bother with repairing a Camry's motor if it has over 150K miles on it, and my motor was at least 50K or so over that mark. It seems like Mom knew best, but I wouldn't listen.

6. what's an "astrological meeting?"

was your mom that into cars? and your car?

maybe she was just trying to get your attention. maybe she just wanted you to notice her saying hello.

maybe it was all preventative -- if you hadn't blown the gasket you might have gotten into a far dangerous situation/accident. and the date and time was your mom just letting you know she was looking out for you...

i don't think her message to you was "I should have just let my old car die, just as she died, and that I shouldn't have let those crooks of mechanics fix it, since I paid an arm and a leg for the motor repair but it only lasted for a couple of months..." etc.

7. I've often seen 11:11 on digital clocks when appropriate thoughts were interrupted...

… and I always respond with acknowledgement of my mother. She and I talked about the significance of this number. My mom was ahead of her time because she used to read astrology magazines. Her son and daughters (when we were coming of age) were naturally inclined to learn about astrology, and this explains why I've had a decades long attention to it.

Mostly, I have many of these feelings described and recognize them when they happen. They and my political activism make me loose my fear about what I must do in this world to carry on in the best way possible.

I'm with you on this connection.

9. shortly after my mom passed, the digital clock in my car went on the "fritz"
Sun Nov 23, 2014, 04:39 PM
Nov 2014

basically it wasn't showing the time anymore.

during the two weeks when she was in the hospital the clock started fading in and out--the numbers would get faint, disappear, and then show up again. and when my mom died the clock seemed to die out too.

but when i'd ask my mom for a sign very frequently the car clock would go on. but not just at *any* time. it would turn on at one of two specific times: either my daughter's birthday or my mom's birthday! after numerous times of this happening it would just turn on at my mom's birthday--when it was actually that time. it would light up with her birth date (month & day) and then turn off when the time changed to the next minute.

i swear if this happened once it happened close to fifty times!

the "signs" have really dwindled the past year--even the past two years. but for the first two and three years they were extremely frequent.

lately, i tell her to give me a sign and there are none. i wonder where she has gone. and why. i don't feel her presence like i did. i wonder if she decided to reincarnate for awhile. and in my mind i keep thinking she better be there to greet me when i go b/c she's the one who matters the most--the closest to my heart--and the one i could not stand to not be there putting her arms around me the moment i cross over. she's the one i'll gladly be leaving this world for in order to be with her again.

11. I have no real theory, only ones from others as to "i wonder where she has gone"

If you believe what some astrologers say (I could link you to their web sites for the weekly astrology report, and thus, their belief system about what dimension we happen to be dealing with now), then this crossing over and the strength of the presence of those who have crossed (my mom, your mom) will come when we need it. You needed it when you saw it?

OTOH, we have to experience things on this earth (in 3-D!), so we only get what we need. I really wonder how some people can tap into the other dimensions (psychic?) but if I believe in what some people practice, we all have the potential to "go there". It has to do with raising the kundalini.

I definitely have to reach an point in my life (retirement?) to be able to test this getting "there", if you know what I mean. Meanwhile, I look for signs from the universe and sometimes if I just believe I will find the answers, they come.

I enjoyed talking about this with you.

12. speaking of "signs from the universe"

(and, btw--i agree about believing i will find the answers and they have a tendency to come) i've been reading this book "top ten things dead people want to tell you" by mike dooley. it's very interesting and uplifting.

i never heard of this author before, but he has these other books i'm reading through:
Notes from the Universe: New Perspectives from an Old Friend
and
More Notes From the Universe: Life, Dreams and Happiness

you can look for them on amazon & read a bit of what is in them

lol -- i had to google the word "kundalini" -- i don't recall ever hearing of that.

if you have a link or two to share from astrologers i'll definitely check them out.

thanks.

16. just wanted to tell you--i glanced at the top page of your link and found this:
Mon Nov 24, 2014, 01:58 AM
Nov 2014

"I must pull myself together
And rise up from the ashes,
Rekindling the flame
Of love for all that happens."

this resonates with me SO MUCH for several reasons:

* when i was a young teen my mom cut something from the newspaper and gave it to me, the title of it was: scorpio, lost without love. (btw--i'm a scorpio)

* i remember reading astrology books when i was young that talked about the scorpio's ability to crash & burn & then rise, like a phoenix, from the ashes.

* since my mom passed i have thought of that phoenix fairly often; feeling as if i had crashed and burned after her death--and i keep waiting to have the strength or the ability to summon the strength to "rise up from the ashes"

* while my mom was still here, and i was an adult, i loved my life! i mean, i would feel so filled with joy that i would actually say that to myself aloud when i was driving in the car alone: "i *love* my life!" and i've been waiting for at least a bit of that feeling to return. off and on, lately, i feel a tiny spark of that joyousness.

anyway--just wanted to let you know. that quote on the front page really speaks to me. thank you *so much!*

8. At my dad's funeral my cellphone rang towards the end of the service.
Sun Nov 23, 2014, 04:19 PM
Nov 2014

I had it in off position and I ran out of minutes and no one had my cellphone number nor do I get calls on it since it is a pay per card number just for emergencies. The only person I called to on it were my husband and my father. I was unable to trace the number which happened to be in the City that he died oddly. Coincidence? I think not. He was drawing public attention to me and communicating and having a good laugh at the same time. This happened the first week of Oct. this year. I had to laugh during the incident. We used to talk by phone every day.

10. that's very cool what happened at the funeral

i'd say it was definitely a "sign" from your dad

you said it happened the first week of oct. of this year--is that week significant to you or your dad?

my mom and i had our own "signal" for the telephone--it began during the days before caller id and continued after we had caller id so she wouldn't have to get up and see who was calling.

however, out of all the many signs she has given me since her departure, our telephone signal has never been one of them. which i find surprising.

17. No significance that I can think of. It was just right at the funeral Mass when it happened.

I think it was a very very strong signal to me. Very strong. Perfect actually since he always used to say "Now why are you calling so much". lol!!!!!
We did not have a good relationship but because at the end I was his caretaker, we had for the first time in years some good moments. There could not have been a more perfect sign ever. Funny as I still have a recording on my answering machine from my mom who died 2.5 years ago also.
Too perfect really. He was really reaching out to me.

14. Before my brother died I asked him to send me some kind of sign if he could
Sun Nov 23, 2014, 10:23 PM
Nov 2014

and to make it obvious as a picture falling over probably wouldn't convince me it was him.

A couple months after he died I was cleaning the change out of the bottom of my purse and dropped one penny. It landed tails up and I could see it was a wheat penny. Had it not landed that way I would never have bothered to check the date on it. It was a 1955-D. My brother was born in '55 and his first name started with D so I took that as my sign and I put the penny in a safe place.
