From time to time, someone asks me to say grace, not knowing that I am an atheist. That is my table grace. It has always been well received.

(146,350 posts)It's also in the form that isn't atypical of such things. Generally, someone always says "Amen" after I say "Thank you." I don't think they realize that it is not a prayer, but a request made to those at the table. Anyhow, it works.
